cant find a proportional valve

i have a 85 s/e bird and it has 4 wheel disk breaks. I'm trying to find a new proportional valve but I'm told it is discontinued. anyone have any suggestions on where to look to find one?

Re: cant find a proportional valve

I just ran into this problem myself. I haven't called napa, but no one else has them. I may just put an adjustable one inline after the rear section.

Re: cant find a proportional valve

Autozone lists two valves for 1985 Firebirds, under the part name "Master Cylinder Kit" Part # 22232 and Part # 22351. I suspect one is for the 4 wheel disk setup and one is for the disk in the front and durms in the rear. I can't say that they have it in stock, but they indicate you can buy them on line. NAPA may have it also. So take a look and maybe you will be able to purchase what you need from them or another vendor.

Re: cant find a proportional valve

i bought one from my local gm dealer about 6 months ago, brand new 1le. i would not recommend it though because of the preemo price you pay at the dealer for "GM" parts. i was just tired of searching for one and needed it yesterday, so i just got it there. i think it was something like $115 , which is absurd
