New Brake booster...

Where can I get one for a decent price? I absolutely cringe at the word rebuilt.

I think you're going to have to get a rebuilt one. Anything from a junkyard is not to be trusted, and that's more or less the only other option.

Actually I found two on www.Ecklerscamaro.com, but I'm waiting to hear a reply as I found 2 of them on there for completely different prices and nothing explaining what the difference in them is. I'll let you know if you're interested.

I have yet to receive any reply from them on the issue of the 2 different boosters they have listed...

Re: New Brake booster...

A brake booster is a simple enough device that I wouldn't be worried about a rebuilt one. All it is inside is a rubber diaphragm and a couple of springs.

Re: New Brake booster...

I've replaced engines, transmissions, rearends, etc. but I've never tackled a booster before. Any tips Apeiron?

Re: New Brake booster...

To replace it? It's pretty straightforward. Disconnect the pushrod from the pedal, 2 bolts holding it to the M/C, 4 bolts holding it to the firewall, IIRC.

Re: New Brake booster...

I have one that was fine when pulld from my 89 Camaro when I parted it out. I'd take $35 shipped for it?
Chris

I even have a LS1 master cylinder on it. if you would be interested in it too.

Does the LS1 M/C line connects match the threads and everything to the original stock threads?

Yes it does, very easy install & cleans up the compartment a little.
