Sometimes when I brake, they dont want to let go for a few seconds????

So what is going on? I hit the brakes, and lift my foot, but they don't let go... It doesn't happen all the time so it is hard for me to think of why.

My motor makes low vacuum, could that be it? The pressure is applied, the fluid feels the pressure, is it the vacuum that the motor is supplying to the booster that pulls them back off? If so, should I look for a leak in the booster? I have a new one, should I toss it on? How do you check for a leak in the booster? Well I can kinda think of that.

Anyone ever have the problem? Thanks.

Do you have rubber brake hoses? Did you replace those when you upgraded your brakes? If not, the insides are collapsing and you need to replace them now or get stainless steel lines.

I agree with compuwiz, the flex lines (or any part of the hard lines) could be partially clogged. They may look good from the outside, but they crumble from the inside out. Could also be your calipers if you haven't replaced them. Rebuilt stock ones are about $20 each after trading in the old ones. Just don't forget to take off flex lines and keep the banjo fitting bolts (new calipers don't come with them and they are only available at dealer)

Can't be the lines. I have all braided lines. All 5 of them. And the rear brakes are re manufactured and the fronts are C5 Z06 brakes that I just got and have VERY few miles on them. Not sure what the deal could be.

I do have a propotioning valve installed from stock that is not being used. Is is kinda just there, since I am running line lock with 3 exit ports, I use that to split the pressure for the 2 fronts. The prop valve is essencially just there for no reason. I am having it taken out when I have new front lines intsalled. Maybe that will fix it? I have no idea.

Could my braided lines be colapsing? they are like 5 years old but have less than 5000 miles on them. Hmmmm... I am lost.

I'd hafta agree with Jeff89formula on the calipers thing if its been a while since you've rebuilt or replaced them with remanufactured calipers the slides could be seizing up. It could also be a combination of the two. The calipers could seize a little and with a partially clogged brake hose the problem could be more obvious.

Just some thoughts...

There is def no seizing, They are practially all new. Everything moves smoothly. This is why i am so confused. I have a new booster that is not on the car yet, there is a new MC on there now. In the next month or so I will toss the booster on and see what happens. The problem is no HUGE, since it doesn't happen all the time, sometimes even for days. It won't. So I dunno. I guess I will slowly go installing all new stuff and double checking things, till I find the problem and it goes away.

Haha, Thats the plan!

Car is at the dyno and they said they will take a look in my booster as there might be a some kind of small leak in it. I already have a new one at home waiting to go in if it is the problem.

Front brake lines/hoses. Check them. I spent countless hours and dollars replacing everything but hoses cause I didn't think that was the problem. $20 and an hour fixed it.
