1LE front brakes

Ok thanks to EBMILLER i am getting my brackets asap. probably this week i will order. I have all my stuff for the rear disc swap to my 10 bolt.

Every one is doing the 1LE or PBR front setup now. There is alot in doing this, like the cutting of the spindel and new brackets. My question, can we just swap a 1LE i think 86-92 camaro spindle and rotors and stuff or is there more to it than that...If you know what i mean. Sorry about all the brakes post i am a very curious person. and not looking for the cheapest way but well the easy and sorta cheap.
oh and the 9 bolt is for sale now, no brakes though. 3.27 Limited slip. but will sell brackets seprately or trade

Though quite good, the 1LE set-up has been surpassed by other brake packages, C5/C6 stopping power for example. You'd have a nearly impossible task in locating original 1LE spindles, if that's your question.

Re: 1LE front brakes

GREATLY appreciate it i am starting the cutting of the spindles as we speak. I just didnt know how rare they were. But that helps, is there anything esle performance suspension i can do to this, i bolted the rear sway arm up off my 9 bolt to the 10 bolt.
What about the front like anything factory i could find of any other 3rd gens that would be an upgrade from a factory 85. i junked my 350 formula after pulling the 9 bolt out of it and i even have the dash emblem that says perormance suspension. and i didnt realize it had the complete 1LE package. I am very upset. lol

Front sway bar. I'm not sure what you currently have. My 85 IROC had a 34 mm front (upgraded since to a hollow 36 mm and solid rear 24 mm). Wonderbar. K-member brace if your car isn't equipped.

no its not equipped with k-members. I have a coupe so i'm guessing very limited on the suspension side.

I included the link to Spohn so that you could see what the braces looked like. May $10 bucks at a JY. Paint'em, install'em.

unless I am reading this wrong...don't be upset. The "Performance suspension" does not mean it was a 1LE car.

IIRC--all 1LEs are Trans Ams

Re: 1LE front brakes

Did not know that what does the IIRC stand for. Well the rear had the 11.6 i guess i atomatically asummed it was considering the k-members and sway bars on rear to. Im not sure but thats good to know thanks.
Say i get this complete front/rear swap done does that make mine a 1LE now or what else. I did get the rear sway off the car its on my 10-bolt now. What else do i need.
And do any of you have the front brackets for the caliper housing. I cant see paying 150 for that. SORRY. Do any of you know were used ones are.

There are plently of Camaro 1LE's. IIRC (if I remember correctly). You'll have a 1LE clone. Used caliper carriers will be difficult to find.

If I recall correcty--just trying to say that the performance suspension badge on the pocket does not = 1LE automaticaly.

in fact--I know of Trans Ams with F41 suspension that have this badge, plus WS6 centre caps---and they handle very poorly

Since this was about a Formula---I was only talking about 1LEs in refeference to Firebirds---not Camaros.

I'll mention how I chose my username--I did not have a 1LE clone--I had pre 1LE---A4U car. Meant for the same purpose--it predated the 1LEs by 1 year. Mine had Brembo calipers (obviously added after built but legal for the racing series)

Now I have a Firebird Formula----wonder if I can change my username?

My response was to 85. He would have a clone.
