Moser 9" brake question

I purchased a moser 9" and at the time was thinking of keeping stock rear drums so I had the rear end set up for that. Apparently you cant use stock rear drums anyways and you need to use like a 90's s-10 drums or some other drums that will work. My question is the flange welded onto the rear end is a four hole design which looks close to the flange of the lt-1 rear discs. I dont know if i will be this luckly to be able to mount the backing plate up to that flange or not? The wholes are not perfectly square it looks like two are closer together then the other two holes. Does any one have a moser 9" with the flange for the lt-1 brakes so I can compare or does anyone just know the answer. Or is there a way with this flange for drum brakes to somehow get discs in the back now ? Thanks for any advice.

Re: Moser 9" brake question

I have a set of the Master Power drum brakes for the 9" rear like yours I would like to sell. I am going to Aerospace discs this year and won't need these anymore. The ends that you have are the new Ford big ends.

Re: Moser 9" brake question

if you do a search I took pics of the GM housing end on the drag board for a how-to assemble moser rear end. But you obviously don't have the proper housing end to run LT1 brakes and should probably measure the bolt hole spacing and call moser and see what will work.

Re: Moser 9" brake question

Sounds like a typical 10 bolt 12 bolt flange, I have a picture to identify what you have. What will determine fitment also is the offset...distance from the face of the bearings flange to the out side face of the axles flange.

Re: Moser 9" brake question

Im going to snap a few pictures tonight and hopefully get them up here but a question about the offset. Is the offset the 1" measurement in the post of above you greezemonkey? Thanks for the help guys.
----------
Nevermind the offset question I looked a little closer at the picture you sent and see what it is. I dont have the rear end together yet so I wont be able to measure that yet. Thanks again

Re: Moser 9" brake question

heres the pictures of the flange which looks like greezemonkey is right about it beign the 12 bolt style which is the same as a 10 bolt style too? Is this what you had xpndbl3? If it is the same then i would be able to use a lt-1 backing plate then correct? Thanks for the help

Re: Moser 9" brake question

12 bolt = 10 bolt on a Moser as posted in #6 by Greezemonkey so the LT1 plate should fit fine.

Re: Moser 9" brake question

Thanks for the replies guys. So the lt-1 should fit up to the flange but would the offset be different at all? Thanks again
