stock 10 bolt disc brakes. will they fit racelites?

Hey guys I am in a huge bind. I have a ls1 diff with original ls1 brakes. They are way to big to fit the 15x10 racelites I have. I changed out the brakes to lt1 brakes and they still are too big. I grinded the **** out of the mand it still rubs.

What i want to know is how big are the stock 10 bolt disc brakes?

Has anyone else fit the racelites with them on and/or is there a company that makes custom brakes

The PBR brakes from 89 and up are 11.65", Ls1 brakes are 12" and i believe the pre 89 iron caliper brakes are something like 9.5 or 10 inches.

do you know if the lt1 backing plate will hold the 88 and older caliper?

I believe they are different. How bad is the grinding?

i did almost an inch of grinding. It was rediculous. I recommend to not have thse rims unless you have a older disc brake setup or drum brake.

10.5. The backing plates, 82-88 and 89-97, are very different. You can see the two in the following link (post 1 and 20):

Yes on the older brakes, the calipers are actually on reverse sides so they can use the same backing plate. I would sell you the whole brake setup, but i have it for a 9 bolt, and im not too sure if there is any difference on the backing plates.

Bolt-hole alignment is different.

On a 9 bolt vs a 10 bolt?

What about a ls1 rear like he has, vs the stock 10 bolt the iron calipers came on?

Re: stock 10 bolt disc brakes. will they fit racelites?

The backing plates for the brakes in question should be the same every year they were used, so you could buy them for an 88, and they would fit an 87 etc, as long as the rear was equipped with those brakes originally. But you have a ls1 rear and im not sure if you would have to modify them to fit on your rear end.

Yes.

The 10-bolt alignment, 89-97, would be the same certainly. I "assume" it's the same for the LS1 10-bolt; however, I have no personal experience with LS1.

well to be honest lt1 brakes do not fit perfect on a ten bolt ls1. the axles are like .2 of a inch too long so you need shims.

Im guessing I will have to do the same for these

Have you looked into any aftermarket rear brakes?
