brand new brakes dragging

well i just installed new calipers, new rotors and pads on the back brakes of my 89 gta. so i went for a ride to brake them in right. I drove about 1 hour making hard stops from about 50 mph. the car stop alot better but when i accelerate the cars brakes feel like they are dragging. the rims are so hot to feel with your hand. I remember when i installed the caliper to the rotor it was very hard to fit on the rotor. is this normal. I did a brake job on 2 other third gens and it was not this bad.

Re: brand new brakes dragging

check your calipers and make sure that they're retracting as far as they should. Either that or the rotor or pads are outside of normal spec

I assume you have PRB's. If the caliper was rebuilt, you may have to adjust the "free travel" screw. If it's too tight, the inner pad will be in contact with the rotor which can cause brake pad wear, heat, damage, etc.
