Just wondering how many people if any are using either of these kits?

Any idea how much improvement it would offer over the stock brakes, or how it would compare to something like an LS1 setup?

I'm looking at these because I'm keeping my stock 15" rims, thanks for any feedback

 

I also see that the 12" C4 upgrade would fit under a 15" rim, would that be the better option? http://flynbye.com/catalog/i1.html

I'm sure any of these would be a huge improvement over stock, correct?

It's a 4 piston caliper vs. the stock single piston, way more clamping power...., as a bonus, it will save you about 35 pounds of unsprung weight.... Win-win deal! I run Wilwood's on most everything I build that's designed to go fast, nice to have the added braking power. Never have used the C4 setup, if braking power is equal to the Wilwood, then it would come down to weight...lighter is better, especially unsprung weight!!!!!

 

the wilwood kit you have listed uses a .81 thick rotor, it will not last or work well on a street car, its more of a drag only setup. I would go with the c4 setup from ed over them

ed does also offer 4 piston wilwood kits with the proper rotors, they are nice too, but i dont think they will fit the 15" rims

might wan to call or pm ed, i dont think the c4 kit will fit stock 15" wheels.

Also, good catch on the wilwood rotor thickness, I missed that. So is the general consensus that the C4 upgrade is worth the money?

According to his site, the 13" Wilwood kit will fit under stock 16" wheels.

 

Hmmm, I have 15" wheels now, but maybe it would make most sense to get some larger diameter and wider ones before upgrading brakes, so I can get the most out of them. If only I had the money to do everything I wanted at once lol

 

Have you looked at trying to assemble your own brake system. I have little knowledge on that idea as it just came to me, but from what I can tell, you should be able to put together your own brakes from what Wilwood has avaliable. As far as I can tell, all you'd need to buy are calipers, rotors, hats and pads.

Someone, correct me if I'm wrong or leaving stuff out.

 

Spindles would need to get modified, and I would need brackets made to mount the calipers I believe. I was thinking this too actually, might just go to a machine shop to modify my spindles and get brackets from Ed Miller. But I think I'm going to get some 16" or maybe 17" wheels before that, so I can fit something of a decent size under there. So it will be a while lol
