you can change the fittings or get adapters, if you can find them

Re: brake line fittings

try searching google, and hit the shopping tab at the top after search. helps. adapters are the way to go but, i recommend the actual brake line with adapters installed. autozone has tons of these adapter brake line prefabed conversions you have to bend the lines. take in you proportion valve and physically yourself check the threading. Autozone with force it, but ask for complete access to the brake lines way in the back. good luck. mines this size off the master cylinder: flare nut size for the front brakes on the master is 12mm and coarse thread, the back brakes port is 14mm fine thread.

Re: brake line fittings

Chances are your new combo valve has sae threads for an inverted 45degree flare where your oem one has a metric bubble flare and as such metric lines and not 3/16 lines. You can not mix the 2, it's either adapters or a different combination valve

Re: brake line fittings

It's possible that an OE 84 has SAE threads. Not only does the 82-83/84 valve look a bit different from later valves but the line attachments are different as well. The older valve can be seen several times in the following link:

Re: brake line fittings

Most aftermarket valves that I have saw have 1/8" female pipe threads. This makes them fairly universal. You use an adapter with 1/8"male pipe to whatever your lines require. Dean
