01 LS1 brakes on 90 IROC banjo bolt hitting lca

I've just finished installing 2001 z28 front brakes on my 1990 IROC, along with SPOHN LCA, and the banjo bolts hit the LCA before my steering locks out. I have the bleeder screw on top, would it matter if it was down? I can switch the calipers and gain a little more turn radius. Then with full lock I hit the caliper body. Any feedback would be very helpfull.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

you cant flip the calipers, the bleeders have to be on top.

so th brake hose hits the steering stop? trim the stop so it clears. Had to do that with my 1le setup

There is no steering stop since I'm using the SPOHN LCAs. If I can't flip the calipers I'll just have to deal with it. This may only be a problem trying to cut it sharp for a parking spot or a u-turn. I'll post a picture of the set-up tomorrow.

Thanks

well, since you have the after market arms, without stops, the wheels will turn further than they would before, same with my UMI arms. Spohn has a steering stop for their arms, pretty much just a shaft collar. I would do something if the brake line is hitting anything, dont want to break it off by accident and cause an accident.

strange though, but i dont have this problem with my c5 setup on my 86. Do you have the lines attached ot the banjo bolt backwards?

my calipers hit my steering stops too. can get 90% turn radius from it tho. i dont mind giving up some turn radius to feel more confident that i can stop.

I have the lines on correct, only one way to go on. I'm using 1LE brake lines. I'll order SPOHNS bump stops today.

That is the way I feel too. The factory front brakes were barely adequate to say the least. Now I have 12 inch brakes all the way around. I'll get it off the stands today and drive it to get the alignment done. I replaced everything up front, from the K-member to include all front and rear suspension. I'll order steering stops from SPOHN or make my own. I just didn't know If I could flip the calipers and put the bleeder on the bottom.

Thanks,
Tim

watch out if that bango hits enough times on that arm it could come loose my buddy had that problem iuntil he made some stops up for his setup i just moved my factory stops in farther and made new holes on the factory arms and i see you have the aftermarket ones

I've got C5 fronts with stock a arms and had the same problem. I just took a BMFH and bent the stops out a bit which fixed it right up.
