Is 200 a good price?

Is 200 a good price?

Hi I was curios if 200 was a good price for a posi with disc brakes rear end. I found a guy selling one who said it is complete. Right now I have a drum rear end

i paid 150 for a complete setup, but you might want to check into brake boosters and lines. i believe you need to run more. others will know more. i have aluminum drums on my posi for now.

Was that 150 for POSI drum setup or POSI disc?

150 then seems like a real good deal. I was pricing parts just to convert my rear to disc and it was a lot. I may try to haggle with guy a little. Is there anything special you have to do if your existing gears are different then the rear end you are swapping?

i went from 273 to 373 rear gears and i havent noticed a difference, but then again i havent really paid attention to much either. ill get more info

I did not think it mattered. I thought it may change speedo, but guy who I want to buy from said it does something to rpms

If the gear ratio is the same, no problem, however, if it's different you'll have to swap the drive and/or driven gears to make the speedo function correctly. There are other matters to consider as well, such as the combination valve and parking brake cables. The following link should get you up to speed:
