Would this MC fir my stock booster?
http://www.opgi.com/p/brakes/3455/176/CH26656.html
I really like the features, and it looks great. I know my bore size is 24mm=.944". They sell this CPP unit in 1" and 1-1/8". Would that 1" one fit?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
bump,
please help.
Does anyone know the dimensions of our booster/master cylinder attachment? If anyone knows this, then I can compare to the CPP part.
please help.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I'm almost positive it will "fit" but it will take a lot of fabrication to make it work. Your car has all metric fittings and the CPP one has standard fittings. You either need adapters for all your lines or you need to make all new lines. I got a similar one for my car and it comes really close to the upper strut mount. I am going the complete aftermarket route with a new adjustable proportioning valve and all new lines to eliminate the metric fittings.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I am chainging everything in the car. I have the C5 brakes already. I am running line lock and an adj. prop valve right now. I know what is needed to make this work. I don't care about that.
I really just want to be 100% sure that this will bolt to my stock booster. Thats all. Seems very hard to find that info.

Buy it. If it fits, great. If not, send it back for a refund. Comparing it to my new one I say it will work but you will need a 90* fitting for the rear line I can see in the picture. It will need to be routed straight back to clear the strut mount.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
Guess that is what I will have to do. Seems crazy that there is no other way to learn if it fits....

Oh well.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
If you do order one post up the results. I'm curious. If it fits I may get one too. I like how it is self contained and it would go good with the "smooth" look I'm going for.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I measured my booster and it seems like it would be close. Really depends how tight a tolerance the holes on both are holding to. I think for the $200 I will buy it and hope it fits, if not, I can return it. I will buy it tonight and let you know what happens when I get it. I will be plumbing my entire car from scratch, I will post that too.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
It is on its way to my appt right now. I will be down workin on the car this weekend. First thing I will do is check if it fits. I can't tell you how badly I hope it does. I am SUPER suprised I couldn't find anyone else who has used this master. It has an adj. prop valve, is polished aluminum, built in brake light switch and a pre-pressure adjustment for rear brakes (this is different than the prop valve). Oh and NO MORE METRIC BUBBLE FLARES!!!!
I can't wait for my whole brake system to just be "normal" double flares.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I know what you mean. I searched a lot about modding the master cylinder but it seems like that is the one thing nobody changes. All these cars with smoothed engine bays with lots of hours of work and they still run the stock master/prop valve/lines combo!

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I know!!! Its like we are the first two people in the world to HATE the stock crap.
I hate the stock plastic cover, I hate the damn metric line sizes, and I super hate that they use bubble flares!
Really hope this works.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
I'm actually thinking of installing my line lock solenoid inside the cowl panel using bulkhead fittings for a cleaner look. I really hope that master fits because it would really simplify plumbing. Do you have aftermarket strut mounts or are they still stock?

Spohn. I don't have stock anything. The only thing left stock on my car is the body's steel - a 3" Cervini hood. Acctually that is all modded too. No side blinkers, locks, antenna, or gas door!

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
The good news, is it fits! The bad news is that it will take some fancy brake line bending to get it to plumb up. Either way, I am getting it in there. I will post pics tonight.

Re: Would this MC fir my stock booster?
Pics are now on the last page of my cardomain site. Angle of the pics is not great. I had my gf take then while I was working on the fuel cell.
Give you an idea. The fittings will have to take a HARD 90 coming out. I think it is doable.
