Re: wilwood brakes

dynalite = tiny calipers IMO, better off getting some 13" corvett rotors, brackets and a J55 caliper.

Re: wilwood brakes

I heard that the Max I can go on stock 16 inch rims is 12 inch rotors.... I'm trying to find better front brakes that are a bolt on deal...

Re: wilwood brakes

1LE,...you'll need same J55 caliper, different abutment(one that clears the rotor hub), stock 1LE 12" rotor, 1Le caliper bracket and a larger 1le outer wheel bearing set. That's it.

Re: wilwood brakes

you can save a lot of money by putting it together yourself.

You're running lace wheels? Because of not, 13" stuff fits behind 16" iroc wheels and a lot of aftermarket wheels too.

a 12.5" C5 conversion set will fit but the tires may rub because the disc + 1LE hub move the wheel outboard

Re: wilwood brakes

talk to Ed Miller (www.flynbye.com) for all things brakes. I put his 13" Willwood kit on my car with stock 16" wheels and they perform like a dream. I now have the utmost confidence in my brakes, and before I had none.

Re: wilwood brakes

This is the kit I used: http://www.flynbye.com/catalog/i18.html
I think the $515 one is the same thing but without the calipers, pads, and possibly rotors.
It's well worth it; you spend piles of money to make it fast, so it's smart to do the brakes right, or else it's all for naught.
Either way, get a hold of Ed before you make a final decision (be patient, he's a busy man). He knows his stuff and there are plenty of other guys who will vouch for his work.

Re: wilwood brakes

Ed makes a comparable set to the 13" Wilwoods for the GTA wheels. I think they use 12" rotors instead of the 13s but you get the same FSL calipers. Ed makes the kit especially for the GTA so you know they fit. Ed is the man.
