Chrome brake booster

Do any of you know where I can find a chrome brake booster for my '89 GTA? I'm looking for one that's made for this specific application and not a generic fit one, if you know what I mean. I have searched quite a bit with no luck. FWIW, my car has 4 wheel disc brakes.

Re: Chrome brake booster

Do they maybe make a chrome one for the 4th gen that I could use? Anyone? Any ideas?

Well, that sounds simple enough. I'll check into it. Thanks.

Re: Chrome brake booster

it comes apart sort of like a sending unit is held into a gas tank, simple tap to unlock ring, but if your not careful you could beat the tabs to death, go slow ands don't rush, also it will jump out at ya when lose but its so simple inside ya can't screw it up.

I got a spare one I was going to powdercoat but its such a PITA to change a booster to reach the bolts [let column hang lose and use every extension you got] I haven't bothered

Re: Chrome brake booster

Thanks for the info. Gumby. Yeah, I did notice how much of a PITA the booster is to remove. There were many cus words flying that afternoon!

Re: Chrome brake booster

Thanks for the information Shawn. I ended up going a different route. I decided to paint it semi-gloss black to keep it stock looking.

Just polish it! It is easy to do while you sit and watch TV or whatever.

polishing an aluminum master cylinder is a totally different deal than polishing a stamped steel brake booster...

Yeah I wasn't paying much attention and assumed. In that case just paint it and use clear coat. But don't let brake fluid touch it!

Re: Chrome brake booster

Problem with that is it may need to be rebuilt when once the seals (o-rings) dry out.
Every rebuilt master cylinder I've ever used was a POS so I only use new Master Cylinders. Brakes are too important to take a chance with.
