Upgrading the brakes this week

Upgrading the stock brakes that are metal on metal (apparently these pads didnt have squeal pads) to the summit xdrilled/slotted rotors, ceramic pads & all the wheel bearings...

The stock setup really sucked a$$ and I'm REALLY hoping that this new get up will help the stopping distance

Re: Upgrading the brakes this week

it will be worlds different that shot pads and metal on metal. YOu will see a much more noticeable eim[improvement with a brake upgrade with a larger caliper and rotor

Invest your money in quality pads, rotors, and bearings. Don't waste your money on drilled or slotted rotors. They are NOT going to improve your braking performance. Instead, if you really want an upgrade, save up for a replacement system.

Re: Upgrading the brakes this week

I already have everthing put on and I couldn't wait another day to order everything, nor to piece an upgraded package together...

Just going with the stock drilled & slotted decreased my stopping distance by 1/2 of the original... Plus I think that my passenger side front caliper was stuck... Anyway, KILLER upgrade for using stock parts

Your stopping got better because you fixed a problem you had with your brakes (no friction material left). No because you got drilled and slotted rotors.

Re: Upgrading the brakes this week

have to agree with 87350iroc lack of brake pad made a diffrence no the rotors drilled/slotted rotors help with cooling/venting of the rotor... metal to metal rubbing cant be good in anything unless your eating a steak lol

Re: Upgrading the brakes this week

Lol I'm not retarded. I know braking will improve with any new equipment, with in reason, BUT from having stock style pads and rotors on it for the 1st 15000 miles I had the car compared to the new set up, there is a HUGE difference.
