Brake Upgrade.

Just getting ready to install my new brakes. I have C5's for the front and was wondering which rout to take for the rear. I have a 10 bolt now. I have a Ls1 brake set up for the rear. All was good but... I ran across a brand new 12 bolt Moser with Willwood brakes for it. Which one should I use for the rear. Which ever one I use the other is for sale. They are both new. The Ls1 is all rebuilt and the rotors turned ready to go.
I know what a dilemma.

Re: Brake Upgrade.

That's easy, 12 bolt Moser! Brand new is good! 12 bolt is good!

Re: Brake Upgrade.

mix it up: 12 bolt with LS1 brakes... i'm a big fan of being able to get service parts at a local store on a sunday afternoon, and that won't happen with Wilwood brakes in most small towns..

Re: Brake Upgrade.

Rear brakes have about 20% of stopping power...on the other hand,C5 & LS1 fronts are great! As you can see in the pic. These days, people go online to order their parts and take advantage of rebates and free shipping and lower prices. Good luck with your decision. I like the new everything with the moser 12.

Re: Brake Upgrade.

LS1 rears are 12" in diameter, 1" thick, i think.
if you need parts, they are available anywhere for not too much money... walk into O'Reilly Auto on a Sunday afternoon and ask the minimum wage kid behind the counter for replacement pads or rotors for Wilwoods and see how far you get...

Re: Brake Upgrade.

I get where your coming from with using part that are easy to come by. But I think I'm using the Wilwoods. Here it is all layed out ready to go on. I do or should say am going to throw in some stuff while I am doing brakes.,

Now I have a set of brakes from a 2002 TA ready to go on that I want to sell., I paid 250 for them and since cleaned, bead blasted and painted, and turned rotors so what are they worth?
