replacing front right brake line...
my front left brake line was clogged and I couldn't bleed the brakes after replacing the calipers so I bought a front brake line kit from jegs. it came with 4 lines prebent for 84-85 Camaros, I changed the drivers sides with no problem but the passenger side it longer and runs under the engine across the k member, my question is how do I change it? do I have to lift the engine or drop kmember?? I don't see any other way to snake it thru... thanks...

its the rubber lines to the calipers that collapse not the hard lines.

Re: replacing front right brake line...
The line is bolted to the k-member below where the engine sits. Don't see how it could be properly replaced without raising the motor. I've replaced them before but the motor was already out.

I would leave it be and just replace the rubber line. Thats usually the one that fails. You can keep the hard lines for spares down the road.

Re: replacing front right brake line...
It'd be tough.
I agree with everyone else...hard lines rarely fail unless they rust away.
But unless you have a concourse car that you are trying to win awards with, i would just make new lines from a roll or sections at the parts store. I just recently bent up some new lines for mine, and completely avoided the k-member under the car. I was trying to make it so that if I ever had to drop the K or the motor again, I wouldnt have to disconnect the front brakes. One less thing... And as far as I can tell, its gonna work well.
There is no real iron clad way to run the lines. As long as you dont put them in harms way, and you dont create any crazy high points that can trap air, you can run them however you want. Even use a union if you have to as long as its a brake line union.
Good luck getting her straightened out!

Not to hijack the thread, but how in the hell do I get the soft lines off without stripping the nuts off. My line wrench has been unsuccessful

Sometimes they dont come apart. You can try good penetrating oil, you can try some heat be be very very careful doing so, dont want to build up pressure n the system and have something burst

A large set of vise grips always work for me .Just go slow to make sure the line isn't rusted to the nut, otherwise you'll twist the line while turning it.

Just one of those good reasons to keep some hard lines for a spare. It can be a booger bear sometimes to get those things apart.

Re: replacing front right brake line...
The engine's out...I may very well take this as an opportunity to change the hard lines too lol.
