Brake line size? From proportioning valve to rear
Hey guys, I'm having trouble flaring the brake line that goes from the proportioning valve to the rear. It had a rust hole so I bought a 1/4 inch line, bent it and had no problems flaring it. I'm planning on using a union to connect it to the line on the car. But I've tried 3 different flaring tools and I cannot get it. The line seems to be slightly smaller than 1/4 inch. Could it be a metric brake line?

the stock hardlines could very well be a slightly smaller metric line, but i've found that the oem lines are just plain harder to flare than the lines you get at the parts store. they seem to be made of a harder material that a cheap flare tool might not be able to bite into to hold in place as you flare it.
