Metric - Adjustable Proportioning Valve and Distribution Block ???

Hi,

I nought a Jegs Adjustable Proportioning Valve and Distribution Block for my 1988 IROC

http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performan...62853/10002/-1

Problem is my car has metric threads that are a lot different to the SAE threads on the JEGS unit.

Is there a similar unit that I can buy elsewhere which will be closer in fit to my unit?

Or do others just buy brake line adapter fittings?

Also, the brake warning light sender is different on the Jegs unit, can I swap them over or do others rewire them for the new sender?

Why don't you just remake the lines from the master to the jegs valve with metric on one end and sae on the other provided the pipe is close enough to flare either size.

The sender is just a 2 wire sender, nothing special about it just rewire to it.

I've been thinking about getting new lines fabricated from the master cylinder to the distribution block, especially if I can get 90 deg fittings coming out of the master cylinder to give me some more clearance from the strut tower.

Wish someone would make a combination block for metric, not just old SAE cars.

If its anything like what i remember from my old pontiac master setup(8 years ago), that fitting is so close to the tower i know i couldn't fit anything in there as far as fittings go, a tube nut with the line was barely able to fit.

I've since gone for a master that puts the lines on the engine side of the car, rather than the outside. So much easier for clearance and access.

I've thought about that, but want to keep the (new) original Master Cylinder because it has a 1" bore.

I did get a 1998 Camaro Brake Booster, which is almost 2" slimmer. I hope this will move the MC closer to the firewall and away from the strut tower.

In hindsight I should have bought a Willwood MC that has exits on both sides rather than a new AC Delco unit.

I thought about a Commodore MC, but the problem is that Holdens use PBR brake parts, but the Camaros use AC Delco and the MC/Booster/Frirewall bolt spacing is different.

There is plenty of master cylinders available in all different bore sizes, including 1".
However the slimmer 4th gen booster should do it, again if i recall the rearward movement of changing that booster would give you the clearance you need.

Just go out and buy some brake line adapter fittings, they come in standard to metric or metric to standard.
