Surprised I haven't seen this question asked already, but what is the size of the bolt that holds the brake hose retainer bracket to the front strut? Mine seem to have gone missing. Bonus points if you can tell me how important that retainer bracket is in keeping the brake hose from getting damaged.

 

It's a self threading bolt, if I had to guess without walking out to the shop to look, I'd bet it's an M8-1.25.

 

M8x1.25 was it! FWIW I am pretty sure that's the same bolt as the dust shield bolts.
