Placed the call and got a hold of Aaron Hardy. After a couple days of looking I get a call back and sure enough and kinda dumbfounded Aaron told me they do in fact have 48 of them. So guys if you need a kit call them.

I just replaced mine with rebuilt units from Autozone. I was pleased to see that they were complete when they arrived. Parking brake levers and mounting bolts attached. Complete replacement units with nothing to swap over. Installed last weekend per the shop manual procedure. So far so good. Parking brakes adjusted easily and worked well on first try. Highly recommend these.
I bought two ACDELCO rebuilt calipers #18FR790 from Rockauto in 2018 during my resto.
Neither had the repair kit installed, nor did they work due that fact.
Bought a kit for a few dollars on ebay, installed it and everything was golden, night and day difference in operation.
What makes the kit actually work is a new bearing assembly with more ball bearings and a different spring to change the tension.

Alright, so I bought the kit. Not quite as a good price as the OP. It came out to be $92 shipped. I wasn't able to get ahold of Aaron, so that is probably my own fault. Even the dude I did talk to (I forget his name) Said it would be $62 plus whatever ground shipping was. . . I can't imagine the ground shipping was $30, and I talked to him on Wednesday and have not yet received it. So it certainly wasn't overnight .
None the less, I plan on hopefully getting this next week to install.

Understandable, real life gets in the way of our projects at times. Surprisingly while working on mine, I had to order ACDelco hardware kit for $10 off Amazon. After getting them all squared away, I adjusted them and they are engaging three clicks after the brake light comes on for the parking brake lever. Afterwards I asked the autoparts store if they had the calipers. They did, and is only $47 bucks. So before you go through all this trouble of messing with what you have, you may want to check with your local autoparts store? I should have first, $47 - $11 (hardware kit) = $36 could have had new caliper.
If you’re gonna clean them out, just use some CRC brake cleaner, should knock whatever is in there right out.

Yeahh, I'm already $90 in the hole for the caliper repair kit, hopefully it wont be too much trouble and I'll be able to learn something.
If I have to end up getting new calipers anyways... Well, wouldn't be the first time I've shot myself in the foot lol.
My drivers rear caliper seems to be dragging and sticking on and off after hard braking. Any chance the kit is going to solve this?
Just checked your brake video again @calidude, doesn’t look like you did anything with the rears. My suggestion still is to just get new ones from a local auto parts store for $50. And/or make sure to adjust them properly with the ‘stupid 6 minute video explains’. Also, if they are dragging, make sure the parking brake spring on the caliber is moving the arm far enough to disengage.
One more thing to note, the disks take the same pads for front and rear. You just have to grind off the metal retaining clip that would go into the front caliper piston off the back of the pad.
Yeah, what I did do was pull off the calipers and the rotors to check the rear axle flanges to make sure they were straight.... already adjusted them to the 1/8 inch lever as I lost the pedal height previously. The parking brake also works awesome and is spot on.

My suspicion is the caliper is sticking as I didn't rebuild those. The rotors and pads are way good and had to have been replaced before the car was put away as they still have shiny zinc on the pads.
I think you can easily check this by either lifting the rear end up, engaging the the parking brake so that the pads are just touching and rotate the tires. You should feel uneven brake points on the disk. Likewise, you should be able to let the car roll in drive, start to engage the parking brake, and again you should feel the car wanting to stop and go.

I would also not rule out the rear differential at this point. Did you check for for any play in the yoke when changing the driveshaft? When is the last time the fluids were checked or changed? Point is, don't leave this out of your investigation...
Vibration related on the freeway is the bigger one as I did not check the pinion and someone else mentioned to do the same, gonna check that this weekend and get under the car again and check that off the list

Keep it simple, I think doing the calipers are good in any event. When/if you do the driver’s side (I know you know it’s a hardline) just make sure to cherish the banjo block that connects the hardline. Mechanic broke my hardline and the used rubber line. In practicality it’s easier to change out the pads, but the bracket where the hardline and soft line connects is a little too close to the shock (in my opinion). I was able to get a new hardline but don’t have that banjo block 🙄
For your research on the diff (again I am not a mechanic in any sort, just been maintaining my car my entire life, since 1987), this video does a good job for our third gens. Hopefully you don’t have to get this far 🤞🏻
My car literally sat for 25 years so I'm wondering what that does to the rear axle bearings? Would that have created a flat spot maybe?
Can’t imagine resting for any amount of time would cause flat spot on metal. Maybe would cause the metal not covered in oil or not in use to move as freely as it should. But can’t imagine warping or any type of change in its form. Let’s see what happens with the calipers first, then start a new thread so others can help you if the vibration is still prominent. Mine sat in my parents garage since 1990 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah makes sense, thanks as installed the calipers and bled them out. They grab nicely as you can see the bushings move way better than the old ones. Also cleaned up and threw some brake grease on the pads so no more squeaks.
Plus the driver's rear shock bolt was completely undone sitting in the foam piece so tightened that down, thank god it didn't wreck the body mount. That's fixed as the jingle is gone and feels tight in the rear, go figure if a nut isn't on a bolt
Took it for a drive the pedal is low so need to adjust them but there is no more rub sound so fixed that for now. However, the parking brake brackets and springs are a bit different than previous ones so I have slack in the cables and I can hear the cable(s) dancing on top of the driveshaft. So need to adjust the calipers with the procedure and cable slack as believing there is an adjustment towards the center of the car?

and make sure that the spring is on the arm here. I made mistake and had to move it, as I left it on the front 90* where the cable slides in. Then after checking, I realized it needed to be on that slot to give more tension.

Think I'm going to see what the difference is between the levers on the new vs old and swap them during the adjustment procedure. The other thing was the lever on the passenger's side was rubbing on the brake hose. Will report back later.

Not necessarily, I used a small vise grip to hold the long adjustment screw, then used a long socket turning it little by little by hand. Tighten with vise grip, move both vise grip/socket, then tighten again, again, again, again...I think you get my point 😁
All fixed up, the cables had fallen from the body mount and one came out of the pull mechanism. Easy fix and adjusted them up with the backoff procedure and they grab like a burr on a pant leg now, lol...
So my caliper rebuild gave me some trouble. Not only is there some pitting, and rust where the piston goes, which I did clean out as best as I could. It was giving me far too much resistance installing the kit. I spent 3.5 hours trying to rebuild one, bringing out clamps and whatever I could to seat the piston. We did manage to get it "in" but the lever isn't functioning as it should, and the whole thing feels sketch to me.
This is a bummer cause all I need now are the calipers, and I finish reinstalling my rear.
Someone posted the BrakeBest Brake Caliper - Remanufactured Part # 18-4164 Line: BC from Orileys as a good replacement.
However, my local store wants me to cover the shipping cost to the store, and want $70 per caliper.
Their online ordering source wasn't working for me last night, and I got a hold on my card for an order than never was.
Does anyone out there have any other links to this caliper? Or one on par with it? Having issues sourcing one.

I was asking early about the springs because I needed one ( before these arrived with new springs installed). Except for the brake line, and the fact that the spring is removed in this pic, this is exactly how these came out of the box:
Sorry you had troubles @Annihilate hopefully the new ones will be easy-peasy. On my rear drivers side, it was hard lined and did not use a soft line (rubber brake line). When I shopped at Pepboys here in NJ, they had the calipers in-stock and they where complete with arms, springs, etc... All you needed to do was slap some pads in, note front pads are the same as the rear disk pads, and hook up the brake line. I bought my pads from Advanced Auto, their brand 'carquest platinum'. They work very well.
