I am looking for a set of steel braked brake lines for my 1le front calipers and my PBR rear calipers. Seems like most places there obsolete that i can find.
Well that's stupid. They have had their e-bay store for many years and I bought brake hoses from them which were excellent.
I guess you don't really want them for your car after all, so why even come here for advice?...
My ebay account expired years ago due to inactivity. I don't use that place either.
Try calling HawksMotorsports.com
and bigbrakeupgrade.com
Hawks carries a brand that has external liner that meet DOT environmental standards. It's good stuff. I can't remember the brand but I've got it on my car.

Oh so i should continue to use it cause of the past scams are gone and over with? Just like I should jump on the band wagon and start using Vimeo or cashapp cause its what everone else is doing and there is zero buyers protection? No thank you.

Thanks. I will probably get them made local. I found out that a good local shop that makes hydraulic hoses can also make steel braided brake lines. Thanks guys.

I'd give those DOT approved hoses SERIOUS consideration. Normal braided lines aren't meant for long term exposure to natural contaminants of water, salt, etc. That's why the OEM's don't use it. The DOT hoses that Hawks carries are steel braided but have a clear sleeve on the outside that protects it from the environment. It's expensive and it's damn good stuff. Maybe they don't have it anymore, I bought mine about 10 years ago.

Never thought of that. But i did check and they still have them. Thanks for the heads up.

There's no scam. That company is legit. And since I didn't get scammed by them, WHY would you? It's not some fly-by-night e-bay seller...

You don't need an e-bay account to buy from them. They are a legitimate company that has an e-bay store...
also any good Hose shop.. can make a copy in them. expl. House Of Hose. in Spokane WA. made copies of some rubber stock stuff. in Braded SS. with the exact fitting to bolt them on.
edit to add DOT approved.

Guys, most braided hoses are not DOT approved. Detail worth paying attention to.
The hoses I suggested are compliant to SAE J1401 and DOT Standard FMVSS106, and pressure tested to 3,000 PSI.
But my suggestion was scoffed at by the O.P., because apparently ANYONE who has an eBay store are scumbags and scammers (even though this vendor has many satisfied customers including me). Kind'a makes me not even want to try to help people. I mean; if they're so smart, why do they come here to ask questions?...

Just don’t buy from companies that have little or a-lot of negative feedback and you’ll be fine! eBay is really bad for sellers at times though for scammers.
sounds like hun got scammed on Marketplace trying to use Vimeo. Most places have good buyers protection form legit transactions and sellers.

If it was a scam, I wouldn't have recommended it, which is why his reply was insulting. I've been on this forum for over 20 years and would have nothing to gain from misleading someone. I made the suggestion because I purchased braided steel brake hoses from them myself. I don't know if they offer the exact hoses he needs or not, but would be surprised if they don't, and it would have been worth the time to inquire...

I would not use them on a daily driver, I have had too break,
I will never use them again.
We use DOT cert'd Russell stainless flex hoses assemblies, these have a sleeve over the braid which is key to longevity with a braided hose. Classic tube offers DOT stainless and also Inline tube. knock on wood we have never had a hose problem since we have offered these, we have had banjos that do not seal or the 3an connection that seep but these problems are easily counted on one had over 15 years. The hose itself failing is going to be from being kinked or pulled at articulation or sediment or debris ended up in the braid, the dirt/sand what have you "saw" or eat at the Teflon hose as the hose works through articulation and pressure spikes until failure.
The common reason stainless hoses do not DOT is the whip test, they will usually fail at the crimp, some hoses pass this test and are still not DOT'd (Earl`s Speedflex) Russell uses a thick semi flexible reinforcement to keep the hose from kink in the whip test, That insulator keeps the braid from touching the crimp sleeve which is thin/sharp and can cut the braid in that test
have used the Russell set 92z28 4wheel disk none 1LE. PBR rears(LIKE IT) but I think the rear lines are a bit long. having to put a loop in the rear lines.per Russell (to me just looks goofy) so I had a local shop who makes DOT brake lines copy the GM lines for the rear. just a better looking fit (to me) using GM like fittings (same as OEM) but in SS. I sold off the front lines as I upgraded to a Wilwood set up.
front set up now
