88 Parking/Emergency brake adjustment question???
Different question than what I've been able to find.
Rear is out. Driveshaft is out. Will have brand new PBR brakes/calipers/pads/rotors. Have new E-brake cables. Cables are installed just hanging loose. With literally NO interference at all the adjustment "rod" if you will, I can easy set the brakes up however I like. Where should that nut on that adjustment rod be? Looks to have never been touched, and it's in the middle. Should I leave it as is, or should I "loosen" it all the way? If I loosen it all the way, I may have a LOT of adjustment once all the parts are back on the car and it could be quite a pain. If I leave it as is, it might be too tight to get the cables hooked up to the calipers.
With a little trial and error I'm sure I can figure it out. Just looking to see if anyone had a jumping off point to possibly save some headache.

Re: 88 Parking/Emergency brake adjustment question???
Does this brake setup have the internal em brake shoes or a mechanical operator for the calliper? I suspect it's going to be a matter of trial and error to finally get it right.

Abubaca, I have the same setup on my 89 IROC. I left the adjustment nut up in trans tunnel at half way on the stud and my parking brake handle pulled up to about 45 degrees.

Yes, it's the mechanical operator that pushes the pad into the rotor. Baja....good to hear about leaving it halfway. That's where I'll start. Gonna make sure to break it loose just in case as it likely hasn't moved in decades!!!!
Thanks
