Installing new Baer rear disc calipers, was sent the bracket in the photo on the top right. Can't seem to understand how it lines up though, as the bracket it is installed onto in the top left isn't on our cars. Without it the new calipers will not fit, as they do not line up with the normal holes. I'm very confused.
secondly, do I have to remove the rear diff cover and pull the axles to remove the original caliper mounting brackets?
thanks!

Nevermind all, I believe I purchased the wrong kit. Same kit a few part #s apart. Different bracket styles though. My mistake. Thank you all for your help.
Getting parts as I go at this point. Rears needed some attention, so I figure get something nice. I plan to match the same style to the front later on, but between getting engaged and home buying I'm not very fluid atm for car parts.
keeping the stock Pontiac wheels for now. I've been eyeing up the black GTA spoke wheels though.

Re: Was I sent the wrong parts?
Yeah, those are 100% wrong. You need to call Summit and get a RMA and beg them to not charge you a restocking fee. If not, then you going to have to eat the restocking fee. No need to get in store credit. What you need for the rear and front of your car you aren't going to be able to buy at Summit.
These are the cheapest and biggest front and rear brakes Baer makes for our cars that will clear the factory 16x8 wheels. These are expensive AF. If you are on a budget, these aren't for you and they stupid AF too. Ain't nobody trying to put 11" brakes on the front with 12" brakes on the rear.
Sorry, not understanding why they are wrong. In the check fitment it lists 82-92 firebird. The rotors lined up well. Would it simply be the bolting up of the caliper that is the issue?
would I not be able to get the circular bracket in this photo and be back on track?

It says right there on your instructions this is for a G Body
The 78-up (or so) G body rear brakes and F body ones are the same, subject to83-back using SAE and 85-up using metric hardware, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Looks to me like he "was sent the wrong parts". Specifically, he "was sent" the ones he ordered, which are wrong.
The parts that were ordered, and sent, are for a different rear end (Saginaw 7½" 10-bolt) than the rear end he has (B-W 9-bolt); and for a rear with different brakes (drums) from the ones he has (D-M cast-iron caliper discs). It's those pesky details again: they always seem to get in the way.
The kit in your phone screen grab ALSO say "10 Bolt Saginaw Drum Brake Rear End", so it's almost certain that that kit and its brackets won't work either. You can't use a kit for "10 bolt Saginaw Drum Brake Rear End" on "9 Bolt Borg-Warner Disc Brake Rear End".
Worse, even if it was the right kit, they have 10½" rotors, which are the same size as what's already there. IOW they're not much of an upgrade to begin with, except to the extent that they might actually do anything at all, unlike those dead-weight Delco-Moraine ones. In short, spending A SHIPLOAD of $$$$ for only a little benefit beyond what could be had by merely putting a little effort into making the existing ones work the best they can.
As far as exchanging the brackets for some others and using the rest of the kit you have, that might be possible; although NOT with the ones in the screenshot since those are for "10 Bolt Saginaw Drum Brake Rear End" and NOT for the rear & brakes you ACTUALLY have. I don't know diddly about Baer brakes though so I'm not who to speak to about that. Baer is.
And yes, you MUST remove the axles, unless you have some magical way to fit an axle flange through a hole that's half its size or less. Which since it's a 9-bolt, is considerably more involved than if it was a 10-bolt.
