Front Brake Hose Routing

1983 Z28 with a transplanted 87 305 TPI, transplanted 1986 Rear Disc Brake rear end, changing from Mass Air Flow to Speed Density system.
Long term project I have been working on. Replacing the brake lines and fuel lines with stainless steel lines from Inline Tube and Fine Lines. I have the front brake line that goes under the engine replaced with the new stainless steel one and both front calipers installed. Attaching the front brake hoses to the line (right side). The hoses seem a bit long but it has been a long time since they were on. I am confused to what the extra retainer section on the hose is for (arrow pointing to it on picture). I thought I had the wrong hose but checked numerous places and it is the correct one. Am I routing the hose wrong and missing a bracket? Is the new brake line too long? Or is this correct (see picture)? The left side hose is the same way. Want to be sure before I proceed.

Thanks in advance

Re: Front Brake Hose Routing

Pretty sure there is a clip/retainer that holds that to the strut.

Re: Front Brake Hose Routing

The front brake lines are held on at two mounting points.
This bracket attaches it to the strut base mount.

On the vehicle attached it looks like this.

Re: Front Brake Hose Routing

Is the left side bracket that attached to the strut the same as the right side? I found brackets but they don't look the same.

Drivers side front left.

Looks quite similar at the strut base mount but obviously flipped to fit the other side of the car.
