Feeler thread: Modded '91 Z28 Project Car
Still not positive if I want to sell yet, just gauging interest and weighing my options right now.
It's a black '91 z28 hardtop, originally a 305 tpi auto car. It now has:
1.L98 with 80,000 miles on it
2.Stock tpi intake
3.Schneider cam with 1.5 roller rockers the specs are: 114lsa, 480 lift,284 duration-but the motor has 1.6 rockers so obviously the specs are different. Any more questions about the cam I have the cam card so I can look at it.
4. Aluminum L98 corvette heads with manley springs and retainers
5.1 5/8 slp headers with gutted cat, and flowmaster 3" catback
6. Custom tune
7. Stock 2.73 posi rear (drum)
8. Stock 700r4
9.Intrax 2" lowering springs, and tokico hp blue shocks and struts.
10. Spohn subframe connectors, welded in
Interior
1. New grey carpet
2. New grey headliner and sail panels
3. Lt1 style black leather seats wrapped in real leather, not the fake stuff
4. 145 mph gauge cluster with white faced gauges.
5. pioneer head unit with infinity reference series speakers all the way around
Wheels
18" boyd coddington junk yard dog with sumitomo htrz 2 tires. (tons of tread left)
I only ran it once but at the 1/8th mile track here, no 1/4 passes. It ran 8.9 @79 mph with street tires and the 2.73 gears. 2.0 60'
I'm sure there is more
The flaws/annoyances:
1. There is something wrong with the rear hatch pull down unit and it won't open (hate those things)
2. The front and rear bumper covers are rattle canned black as the paint was cracking and peeling on both ends.
3. There is a slight damaged area on the passenger rear quarter panel (someone hit and ran.) This is only minor damage but it bugs me personally-will get pics of that later.
4. The motor runs strong, but the piston rings I believe has seen better days..it smokes some while driving.
5. Timing needs to be adjusted, sometimes it runs perfect and other times it's a bit rougher
I'll add more to the thread as I remember it..
$4500 obo

Thank you for the compliment.
Yeah I would love to keep it, but the way things are right now it may be in my best interest to part with it. Like I said just testing the waters and considering everything still..

that's kinda a lot of money for someone that's going to have to rip the motor a part to replace piston rings tho it is a good looking car. were did you get the wheels?

If you are interested in the car and do not like the price, pm me with an offer and we can talk.
I bought the wheels from jtmiller92 here on the boards about a year and a half ago.. not sure if he ordered them directly through boyd coddington or a seperate retailer..

That car looks very familiar. Who did you buy it from? I think that "custom tune" was done by me.
