[SOLD] '88 Iroc-Z G92 305/5spd Hardtop
Hey Guys, I'm selling an excellent condition 1988 Camaro Iroc-Z, hardtop 305 TPI with 5 speed manual. It was originally sold in Canada and then brought to the USA. The dash is in metric, but the small numbers show mph. I bought this car from the original owner last year. I have all of his original records going back to when he special ordered it from the dealer + all the options. It has been dealer serviced since 1988. There are 117,016 miles on this car. There are NO performance modifications, it's entirely stock besides the maintenance replacements! Runs and drives great and would be a fantastic daily driver. I wouldn't hesitate to take this car on a longer trip either. Has 4 wheel disc brakes. It was ordered by the original owner with the G92 9bolt rearend package + KC4 oil cooler, and I have his physical sheet listing the other options he spec'd.
This car originally had some rust around the fenders and quarter wheel wells, so I had new quarters and fenders installed professionally at a local shop. They also painted and clear coated the car the stock color. It looks fantastic and is very clean! The interior is also incredibly clean, and the drivers seat has one tiny hole. No cracks in the dashpad or dash. Rear seats are also very clean. Has the original trunk retractable shade/guard. AC and heat work just fine as well.
The underside of this car had been coated for many years of its life preventing the typical rust damage. There was minor surface rust where the undercoat had gone thin, so I spent a few days on a lift sanding and using POR15 to completely prevent any more surface rust. See below for a pic of the underbody. The engine bay has all of the original equipment and ZERO rust. If you're looking for a bone stock iroc G92 platform this is a great one!
More Information:
2015 New starter installed
2014 Includes a new Kenwood stereo headunit
2014 New front bowtie grille and clear turn signal lights
2014 New tune-up
2014 New fuel filter
2014 New fenders/quarters/paint and clearcoat
2014 New decal set
The not-so bad:
- The trunk has the electronic pull-down which commonly break. Previous owner broke it by accident. The trunk will close and lock manually but sticks up about 1/8inch because of the issue with the pull-down motor.
The car comes with a set of 4x 70's era firebird snowflake wheels and tires too. The PO used them as fall/winter tires in-case he took it out.

Re: 1988 Camaro Iroc-Z 305/5spd Hardtop - Price Dropped
Real nice Iroc. My 92 did the same thing with the tranmission. I was told to put it down to 2nd and then reverse and it would be good. It worked for me.
If you were closer I'd make a offer. Good luck, looks like the nice ebay cars are getting bids.

Beautiful Car you have there! Be patient and it will sell for a good price. It took me three solid months but I got what i wanted for mine. I think these cars are going to get more valuable in this condition here soon. But not everyone here thinks so. There is an admin here who thinks those holes they drilled in the door jams for rustproofing make the car a wreck! GLWS!

New starter installed, works great! Forgot to mention this G92 car also has the KC4 oil cooler package. I've been cruising a bit since we've got some nice weather and it's a real head turner! Will be going to local shows from now on trying to sell it as well. I'll also detail the engine bay soon and try to post new pics.

Bump! The small hitch has now been removed, and I've taken care of the underbody surface rust (parent material was in great shape, it was only on the surface)! Also detailed the engine bay and it came out fantastic (pic above). I've lowered the price as well to try and sell, would like to move onto a new project. Throw me an offer!

I thought the these didn't have a synchro for reverse? Everything I have seen for this car is that they will always grind a little unless you go to another gear first before reverse. Mine has done it a few times. I just go to first then reverse and never have any issues.

The Fox body style mustang used a WCT5 also and is somewhat similar. But everything I have researched is that reverse doesn't have one. So I honestly would remove it from your ad or at the very least re write it and explain it so it doesn't hurt your chance of selling it.

Yes, that is normal for the T5.
And I CANNOT believe this car hasn't sold yet!

Since the car was from Canada, does it go by miles or kilos traveled on the odometer? If you convert what you say it has to miles, it's well under 100k miles. Just curious, it might help the sale!
