Will Trade My 1997 Camaro SS 54,786 ORIGINAL miles 6-speed For The Right IROC-Z

CAR IS SOLD. NO LONGER INTERESTED. THANKS!!

The car would have to be mechanically sound with no electrical problems or body damage (short of NORMAL dings, etc.) Car must also still be TPI, not miniram or stealth ram, etc., as I already have a minirammed car.

AS I SAID, VERY MOTIVATED.

My 1997 Camaro SS:

-According to another site where I did research, my '97 SS is 1 of 371 '97 SS' optioned this way.
-LT1/6-speed
-Mechanically everything works perfect/no codes.
-Car is black w/ leather dark gray seats. No rips, no burns.
-T-Tops
-58,476 ORIGINAL miles.
-All stock except for an LGM airfoil.
-I'm the original owner with a free and clear title and have all original documentation: Chevrolet Window Sticker and SLP GM SS Conversion Window Sticker, Owners Manual and Camaro SS Supplemental Owners Manual.
-All numbers matching.
-Tires have between 60-75 % tread left and are Kumho 712's. Some pictures in this ad has the old bald tires in the pics, they are gone and the Kumho 712's are on now.
-New brakes and rotors turned 6/9/2006.
-New LT1 EGR 7/18/2006.
-Car was fully SALE inspected by two independent sources (Lighthouse Towing and McGinnes Chevrolet) and is good to go to a new home. The oil leak was also dye checked to ensure that it is gone (It is gone, see receipt on page 2 of ad).
-Car has also been Virginia Safety Inspected at the same time as above and has a good VA inspection through 7/07.
-Has new airfilter.
-Has new wipers.

SLP Options:

-SLP Exhaust System
-Torsion Torque Sensing Limited Slip Differential W/AAM Aluminum Cover
-Hurst Shifter (Leather)
-SS Front Floor Mats
-SS Car Cover
-Oil Cooler Package

It has Infinity Kappa speakers all around with two 12" Infinity Kappa subwoofers w/ two Alpine V12 amps and an Alpine CD/cassette Head Unit. I will likely remove all of the stereo equipment...but would consider leaving the door and pillar speakers and just remove the HU, amps and sub box while leaving all wiring.

Pics taken 5/28/2006-6/12/2006:

Thanks for looking...

trade for my '89 IROC? matches all the requirements except for power windows and power mirrors and it has 15" IROC wheels , not 16's. black and grey clotch interior, the only way the interior could be nicer is if you got a new dash cuz it has a crack in it. and there's a spot or two on the rear seats that could use some color dye (the black has faded on a small amount of the seats). you've probably seen the exterior of the car, it has just underwent a restoration, so it's in good condition

have a beautiful 89 Iroc-z, the body has 115,000 on it but the entire drivetrain has under 30,000, that also includes shocks, brakes, paint, coil springs, accessories, all very low milaege,i have 13,000$ in receipts on the car and it runs awesome. heres some about it:
-beautiful maroon paintjob with 2" cowl fiberglass bolt on hood, 16" american racing aluminum rims, almost brand new z-rated bf goodrich 245 r16 tires
-Tuned port injection 355 with mild cam, ported and polished plenum and intake, all msd ignition with 6,000rpm rev. limiter(engine has under 30,000 miles on rebuild)
-adjustable fuel regulator
-newly remanufactured 700r4 trans coming in the mail (good up to 550hp), new 1800-2200 stall converter, external trans cooler all being installed by the end of the week
-373 posi rear (9 bolt 4wheel disk rear) just serviced with new fluid, gasket, and posi additive. (less than 2500 miles on the rear)
the car is extremely quick and is in immaculate shape with a ton of accesseries
-mass air flow honed out, throttle body airfoil added, air ducts for intake cut out for increased air flow, dual k&n air filters.
i'm located in the poconos in pennsylvania, the car has always been garage kept and never saw bad weather besides about 3 rain storms, no salt, no rust, no snow storms, always stored for winters. i have plenty of pics on the car feel free to email me at calebr1987@hotmail.com or gimme a call on my cell its 570-977-7026, thanks

heres all the info on the new transmission, this is the exact one only i bought the package deal for $1400 (converter, cooler, shipping, stage 2 shift kit):
eBay Motors: GM Chevy Street/Strip Transmission 700R4 "PUNISHER"! (item 8059748927 end time May-04-06 10:06:51 PDT)

I was actually pondering trading my car in for an SS after getting smoked by my dads '94, heh. Simply so I could say I could kick his *** in a race. I actually just recently bought my '88 IROC up in Bunnell, FL. I'm the second owner and only 18 but I've taken care of it thus far, haven't ran it into any trees yet Previous owner was female and drove the car 94,000 miles the first 8 years of owning it then in the last ten years she left it in a barn (concrete floor of course, minimal rust) and only drove it one month out of the year for those ten, so she only put 3,800 miles on it before I got it. The carfax shows all of this stuff so I'm not making it up. Had to drive it 100 miles back and she said it hasn't even been driven in three years so I was on a prayer. I put about 400 miles (including the 100 mile drive back.) on it, been driving it every day, beautiful car and it runs awesome and it just went over 9,800. I just had it checked out and it's going to need a new A/C system since this one is about shot and it has to be retrofitted to the new freon and all that mumbo jumbo. The rearsway bars bushings are shot so when I drive the rear end goes 'clank clank clank' when I hit a bump, metal-on-metal so I need to get that fixed ASAP and I'm going to be driving with my dad to work so I'm going to make this a weekend car anyways. Interior is flawless, except for some grease the mechanics got in my seats but i've gotten most of it out before I ran out of upholstery cleaner, original seats with hand-stiched Camaro logo in them, tan interior. Oil pressure gauge is broken. Radio is intermittent and power antenna is stuck. Rear hatch shocks need to be replaced and the T-Tops do not leak and it is on its original weatherstripping. No parts have ever been replaced in this car everything is completely original except maybe for maybe the Oil Cap. Paint is white and original also, needs a bit of touching up but I'm thinking about going for a Red or Black paintjob anyways. Oh, and the rear left outer spoiler has a crack in it but I'm finding a replacement for that ASAP, also. I have some pictures on cardomain: 1988 Chevrolet Camaro - Josh's Chevrolet. my email is ssjflint@bellsouth.net if you want more info/close-up pictures.

If you are looking for an all original IROC that is stock that you could make into an easy daily driver, weekend car, or project then this would be the one. But it's probably not the paint you're looking for. I wonder how much I could get on E-bay for mileage this low, some idiot bought a 91' for $6,000 from the crappiest auto place around and it had 150,000 miles on it.

- Josh

By the way, nice GnR icon, I remember driving with my dad in his red 89 IROC when I was a kid blasting his appetite for destruction tape.

92 formula,

Why dont you get a good condition. 3rd gen rolling chassis. Then, swap the motor, tranny, rear, etc. Then part out your 97 for $$$.

No problem, I had to go to sleep early and work all day anyways, now it's time for school. People at work were telling me to keep my IROC because I was pondering the whole ebay thing but I probably might keep it and get me a cheap econobox unless you seem interested. I'd really dig a SS for a weekend car. Also you mentioned fixing the things that were broken with your car and I would be willing to do the same, I have estimates on the repairs that are good for about 5-10 more days so I could get those done real easy with my Birthday money I'm gettin' real soon. A/C is gonna cost me 1,200 and the sway bars links are just a little bit extra so around 1,500 in repairs I have, unless I decide to try and attempt them myself. I'm going to clean the front wheel bearings this weekend. Sorry if it's not the exterior or interior colors you were looking for but that combination might be a little tough to find, if you wanted you could do it with this car but if you wanted to resell it some day it might be worth a little less if the exterior and interior numbers don't match up.

I need to take it to a guy who knows stuff about older cars and see if I really need a whole new paintjob or just some little touch ups.

that would be the dumbest idea ever...no offense to anyone who thought it'd be cool to put the motor and interior and junk from the '97 into a 3rd gen.

'97 SS's are rare

Not to thread jack, BUT...

I was just thinking the drivetrain and wheels. IMHO Third gen interiors are UGLY. I wouldn't swap the interior in my 1991 GTA for anything! Plus GTA wheels are awsome. But to each his own! So if you guys love it, go right ahead!

Well, in your opinion it's the dumbest idea ever. We happen to like the body style, handling, looks, etc. of 3rd gens better than 4th gens. So to us, it's great!

I apologize for not responding earlier, I did not mean to ignore you. Sounds like a very nice car, but not what I'm looking for. Thanks.

No way, Bill. The SS is pretty mint and would get me much more money if I just sold it rather than take out the drivetrain. I already have an 11 second IROC, so it really wouldn't make sense in my case. I also believe at some point someone will have the thirdgen I want and will make a trade with me. I appreciate the input, however.

I am still in the market everyone.

Will also trade for a 1991-1992 Z28 L98 G92 J65 car, too. Please make offers. I'm not interested in LB9 cars, though. Thank you for looking.

Still looking. I updated my original post as I have ordered the parts to correct the negatives in the hope that will finally entice the right '91 - '92 Z28 L98 G92 J65 car to enter.

Thanks for looking and for your patience.

Thanks. Oh, and it's definitely 58,476 miles on it. I'm the only owner it has ever had. I don't recall the oil leak when I put it in storage last August-October time frame. I did change the oil before storing it though.

That's why there is detailed pics of everything, so far, so there will be no surprises.

[Edited to put correct mileage in]
