Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
When are you guys planning on bringing your cars out agian?
I finally got the 10x20 garage up for mine the beginning of the month. But I cant wait to get it back on the road again. I still start it every weekend because I miss the sound so much, and the Avenger just doesn't cut it lol.
And incase anyone needs anything random from the junk yard. There is 1 red 84, stock 2.8l auto firebird, 1 black 3rd gen camaro, and one blue Hybrid. Camaro body with firebird fenders, hood, and nose... all at PnP

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
It's great that you got a shelter for your Bird. If all goes well. hopefully I can put some insurance on my car around may or june. Thanks for the heads up on the parts at PnP.
Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
WhiskeyChick, thanks for the reminder that spring is not too far away.
Like you, I have been starting the iroc every week. I am also in the garage every day to tinker with it, or just to sit and look and dream of spring. My target for being on the road is April 1.
I have been buying bits and pieces on eBay over the winter. I am starting to realize what a money-pit a 20 year old car can be. I haven't checked out PnP before, thanks for the heads up. Do you always keep your eye on 3rd gen's there, do you work there ?
I would like to meet up with all of you around Kelowna sometime. Maybe we can put on a show of our own, lol.

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
That would be killer man.. a thirdgen get together locally would be awesome. Iroc_kelowna, there really is no reason we couln't meet up anytime even if our cars are not on the road. My car has been sitting quietly in the garage with the cover on it.
Oh and a recent item I picked up. From Chapters. a nice big thick book "The Official Anniversary Book, Camaro, Forty Years" by Darwin Holmstrom. Nice book, lots of history tid bits. The chapter for the thirdgens is called "The Best-Handling Car in America". My only beef with the book, is the section on the thirdgen is the smallest.

After working on other projects, hibernating, and generally been unenthused about cars over Christmas, I got the smaller secondary jets I need sourced and ordered today. The price wasn't even too bad considering they've been out-of-production for almost 25 years.

Castlegar? That's right around Brisk's neighborhood.
Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
Just put my car on the road today, feels great to get out of the truck and into the car again. Coming from Saskatchewan, I have a hard time believing that I am insuring on the 4th of march. When you guys get your cars out on the road, we should do a cruise down a main street in kelowna than go for beers or something.
Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
Welcome, Bane
My target is April 1, I try to wait until the street sweepers have cleaned up the sand and gravel that's leftover from winter.
Post some pic's of your ride, tell us about it.

Well Spring is in the air, and many of us that had our cars in storage mode will be out soon, if they are not already.
Anyone in the Okanagan area up for a spring get together?

On a different note. I have finally started getting the camaro ready for the road. Should be insured later this week.

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
Yea I have raced there before, and no you dont need a helmet. If I remember correctly, its 20 bucks to race, plus 10 to get in. so 30 bucks total, but you do get as many passes as you want. You can even hot lap it sometimes if you want to.
And we got about 3-4 inches of snow last night/this morning, and it was gone by 2 in the afternoon lol. Nice and sunny warm the rest of the day, for snowing at 11am. I love Okanagan weather :P

Looks like I wont be going the the drags this month. I fried my clutch today and I don't think I'll have it fixed by then, have to wait till the next ones.

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
Well Being that today is the only day I have off where I will be in town, since next weekend I'll be out fo province. I am hoping to get my car polished today. I modified a Princess Auto , orbital polisher to use professional velcroback pads, and put a variable speed control on it, and some nice Farecla G3 & G10 for the job.
The snow yesterday sucked. especially working outside.
Glad it's gone today. I'm not really one for putting my car on a drag strip, but an autocross track would be fun.

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
I did I did!! lol
There was a wicked 1st gen camaro there, totally done up, loud stupid fast too, bright lemon yellow
There was also a beat up 3rd gen camaro, that was very lumpy but not that quick lol, just fast enough
And me!
I shaved over .2 tenths off my previous best, and increase my trap speed!! almost 74mph
and 9.8 in the 1/8th. Still working on my 60' times though, still at 2.4
But not bad gain for changing spark plugs and new wires, and it's still a full race weight GTA

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
Anyone going to the Osoyoos drags this weekend? Its a 2 day event racing both days, and camping is allowed there.
I am planning on going.... But my GTA is Rad-less, and manifold-less right now. Trying to get my hooker headers and Y-Pipe in by this weekend, and my summit rad in the car as well. Was going to try to get my valve seals done as well, but I think thats a bit of a tall order.
i will be at osoyoos even if the GTA isnt, and I might just have to race my daily lol!

Re: Anyone from the Interior of BC?
They were great actually good turn out. The beautiful 1st gen yellow camaro was back, but in the eliminations round he blew his tranny. He had a powerglide 2snd, but lost second, poor guy.
The grand national was there, and still having major issues, it cuts out on him, and wont idle. Almost needed a push lol.
Other then that just good fun at the races
I didnt race this time, I was just a spectator.
Trying for Thunder in the Mountian this weekend outside Kelowna, but doubt ill even make it up there

I am so sick of this stuid car, anything and everything that it envolves goes wrong.
But considering its not running and wont be for a while maybe I should just part the F*ing thing out.
