So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

I had been working on my car, putting the door panel back together right before leaving.. So I changed my pants, and watched a movie with the girlfriend. (BTW this is leading up to the ticket) Driving home, no problem, didn't drink, didn't do any drugs, I get pulled over on a normal route to school. I was going 55 in a 50 km/h zone.

Cop comes up to the window, standard "Have you been drinking" of course I answer no. She then asks for my registration, I give her my ownership, and insurance. Then she comes back 5 minutes later asking for my license. I feel my pocket, nothing.. She goes back in to the car, comes back 10 minutes later, gives me my insurance, and says because I forgot my license, I now have to pay a 110$ fine. So I'm thinking this is ridiculous, because I'm a teen driving a black Firebird, they're going to pull me over for doing nothing wrong, and in turn, I get a 110$ ticket.

So I went down to the police station, and asked if I had 24 hours to produce a drivers license, the lady looks at the ticket and gives me a blatent "No, she did not write TTP at the top of the ticket"

So don't forget your license... I can't even fight it, because she would show up at court, my buddies have had her before, and she never loses. So goodbye to my savings.

And after you lose you may be so lucky to have her show you her strap-on.....

She was shorter than my car, and it looked as though she had never missed a meal in her life.

I had that same thing happen only "****" said I could go and show it. So I went a got called a liar by the desk jockey cop. He called the officer on his phone and he said he never said it. I said its pretty bad when cops lie, but the desk jockey called me a liar and said he would take the officers word over mine...

I'm like cant you check that shat on your computer....
Idiot cops.

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

I respect police, they're risking they're lives to keep our city safe. But it truly bothers me what this really boils down to. A 110$ ticket for forgetting a license? I can see 50$, it's a minor infraction, it's not like I'm doing 30 over, and picking off little children at their bus stops.

Honestly, I'm a safe driver, I don't speed, I don't drink and drive, I don't drive dangerously, and all around, have not had a fit of road rage in my driving career. Shouldn't this cop put her attention to people who are actually committing these crimes? Shouldn't she be looking for people dealing drugs, and selling guns? Is there anything better to do than pull people over who are driving in between the lines, and barely over the speed limit? Are my human rights being stepped on by someone who believes they should use me as an example to the teenage population?

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

it boils down to the cop had nothing better to do that night

some cops would write their own mom a ticket, others can care less as long as you aint tring to kill people out there

on the plus side you dont have my ticket of $500 for going through a road closed thingy (yet it was wide open and the road closed was to one side)

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

Theres actually a reason behind that offence, I got a ticket like that before i didn't have my insurance papers or licence on me and she gave me the ticket. I went and showed proof the next day and it was waived.. I forgot why they give you a ticket for it but i found out later its a good reason something to do with identity theft and auto theft and the work they have to do to find out if your who you say you are and if its your car. One thing about the legal system i love is getting tickets sent to you twice and if you don't keep your receipts they charge you AGAIN and with a late fee on top.

LOL .... Your complaining about a 110.00 ticket and it's probably not even a moving violation. Hahaha try getting a 1800.00 ticket now those hurt.

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

ive been paying off my last ticket for 2 years. 4900 dollars, i was in the car in my sig. havnt done anything stupid on the road since. i dont know how the courts work in canada, but if its really that important to you, in the states i would appeal the hell out of it, or nto pay it and tell them to put me in jail. (i told a judge to put me in jail for a 50$ offence and he waived the fee just because it owuld have costed the state too much money to process me and all that)

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

I got a parking ticket for parking in a handi-cap zone but it was winter and there was no vertical sign only blue paint on the road in the middle of winter I paid it, then a month later i got the exact same ticket in the mail i never bothered keeping my receipt becuase i thought they would keep it on file somehwere that i payed it i havnt paid it in more than a year and ive heard nothing more of it My guess is the government tried to scam me to get more money out of me or something and after they figured out that i didnt want to pay the second ticket they forgot about it.

Well, it depends. Previously my catalytic convertor had been blown apart on the inside (The honeycomb was completely gone) I passed my e-test with flying colours. But some people (Like my father) have an exhaust set up for the once a year e-test, with a quick change set up, then after the e-test is done, takes the cats off, and puts on straight glass packs.

Re: So I got a 110$ ticket last night...

There's basically no smog laws out here in the prairies. It's great! Aside from the 11months of winter...
I had my mechanic chop off my cat on a few of my cars. Flows better, sounds nicer and gives that wicked boat like smell/sound. A well tuned car isn't too bad on the environment (compared to the oil&gas industry, I don't feel too bad about what I do )

I was caught in a speed trap driving my brothers car to work once, couldn't find his updated insurance I think. They used his 1yr old copy and phoned the insurance company while I waited to double check. It was nice, instead of a ticket I guess. Still got the speeding ticket though.
