Where the hell have cheap 3rd gen v8s gone?

So...I remember last year searching craigslist/kijiji, and I would find TONS of thirdgens...going for cheap too! v8 cars for $1000-$2000....

Now I have finally saved up about $3000, and when I go on kijiji/craigslist, I HARDLY find any thirdgens....and the ones I do find, are expensive....

Should I just hold out until september when everyones going back to school?

Wait until the summer. I saw a lot of great deals (Including my Camaro) last summer.

I bought my third gen for 1000$, the clutch is really bad, but he did give me a new in the box clutch kit for free. I bought it off my friend though.

Re: Where the hell have cheap 3rd gen v8s gone?

When I took my car to the body shop a few weeks ago the owner told me he is seeing less and less V8 5 speeds. He was very adamant that I should keep the car because they will be worth more in a few years. We went over what I was wanting to do to my car he told me not to go too far with mods.

From my experience, they will start to show again in the summer months (a lot of automatics - less 5spd).

So the deals ARE out there you just gotta find them

Re: Where the hell have cheap 3rd gen v8s gone?

I almost bought a '87 GTA (350 and T-tops) for $750. I mean I made the offer and the guy, after a week, said he'd accept it. Problem is that I am now into another project and had to let it go.

Also, on Craigslist, saw a '91 GTA (305/5-speed) for $1600. So, the cheap cars are still there, but you are going to have a major project to deal with.

Re: Where the hell have cheap 3rd gen v8s gone?

Yeah, they are out there. I picked up my 1992 Formula about a month ago or so. A friend of mine is looking for a third gen though and everything decent seems to be higher in price than they were a couple years ago. Everything my friend and I have looked at for around the $2,000 or less range (all he can afford right now) is a total **** heap.
