does anyone want to carry the torch ?

my friends,
I have come to crossroad in my life. I recently recieved a promotion into managment, and with that, comes less free time.

I am not, and refuse, to give up my hobby in car audio, but I definately need to scale back. Sexay Customs will no longer fabricate and sell over the net . I will only do local side jobs now. So unfortunately, no more 3rd gen kicks.

I will finish the 2 sets I'm working on now (and to you two guys, again, thanks for your patience!). And then, that is it.

I thought long and hard about this, but each set of kicks takes me a solid 3 evenings to make. I just can't spare that kind of time anymore.

If someone wants to build these, I am willing to sell the molds for $200 shipped. They are not perfectly smooth, so no vinyl finish unless you sand and fill. But the finish is fine for carpet.

Thanks for the business, and I will still pop in here once in awhile.

mike

Congrats on the promotion. I'm glad I bought my kickpanels when I did. Best of luck and I hope you will still lend your expertise and knowledge to the Car Audio board on occasion.

Does that mean that if someone doesent keep making them I'm going to have to buy Q logics?! I knew I should have bought some with my last pay check.

I'm glad to hear you got a promotion and your life is moving the direction you want.

Good luck man...we'll miss you,
Matt

Throw 'em my way. I didn't want to get into kicks because you had a long standing reputation and business. If you're quitting mass production, it's a perfect opportunity. I'll send you an E-mail on the details.

And to think I was just waiting to order a set as soon as you came back from hiatus...bummer. hope the person who gets the molds continues on making quality kicks.

have you thought about continuing to produce them at a reduced rate? or maybe as a short kit? (leaving all sanding/finishing work to the buyer, and just selling the bare panel as it comes out of the mold)? Or just not an option?

good luck with management!

I am soon to be the new owner and will continue to produce them. It will probably be about a month because I have to get the molds, take a few practice runs, etc. Then I'll post some pictures of ones that I made from the molds so you guys can see if they're still up to par.

Mike congrates on the promotion at work. I do hate to hear that you are no longer going to be producing the kicks, but I am glad to see someone else jump in and take over so the Thirdgen community isn't at a complete loss. Good Luck John

I should get the molds any day now. When I do it will hopefully be about 2 weeks. Unfortunately I have a national obligation between the 15-30 of June, so I might have to start production early July.
