Is my amp blown???

The amp just cut out on me and I don't listen to it that loud. I have it running in series to two 350W Pioneer 10's. The amp is a Sony explode (250W) I think. Sound only comes out of one sub and I switched channels to make sure it was not the sub that was blown. All connections are tight and the amp is like 2 years old. Any thoughts?

Your running two subs on one channel each, correct?? You cant have 2 subs in a series of a 2 channel amp not bridged. IF you bridge it to one channel and go like this...

Check all your connections (ground, power, remote, battery terminal) everything. Then see how many ohms the amp can handle. If you can run the subs parallel then you will get more power out of them. If the amp still cuts out, see if anyone you know has one you can borrow and test out and see if its your amp.

limit your possibilites ... many people are gonna post by saying the problem is that its a SONY

we need a little more info on the specs, how its wired, where your grounded to. Did you buy the amp used??? if not exchange it for a new one.

Just a few suggestions.

They are in parralel I just checked. However when I switched positive leads both subs came back on and everything works again. It is really wierd. I have had this system new for about 2 years no problems.

I can't bridge my Sony XPLOD amp..
300w 4channel - i tried bridging it to get 150w x2, no luck..

---------------|¯-_-¯|---------------

Speaking of amps, the very same amp i previously mentioned,
will not send any signal out.. all of it's protection lights are on-
(THERMAL / OFFSET / OVER-CURRENT)

Power Supply Inputs - look like the following:

|REM| |12V| |GND|

I accidently hooked it up reverse, ground to remote,
remote to ground. I was trying to get the stupid thing all
put in before it was too late and i ran into a few problems
fitting it, etc. by the time i got to actually "plugging-in" the
amp, it was around 11pm and had practically no light except
a bit of glare from the dome light.. So i hooked it up wrong
and now it will NOT come off the friggin' protection sh*t..
any ideas?

I would recommend a Sony Xpold Cd Player over Pioneer anyday. As for subs I would rahter have Pioneer. For Compents, Xplods are better sound quality by far. - nodz -
