RF Mod CD Changer -- New Head Unit

Okay, I have been asked this question, but am not sure about the answer.

We have a JVC 12 Disc Changer with an RF modulator. We are looking to buy a JVC Receiver with CD Changer controls. Question is will we be able to use the current 12 disc changer and plug it into the CD changer controls and eliminate the need for the RF modulator? Will we need to buy a new cable from JVC or will the current one work.

I don't have the changer in my possesion so I can't desribe what cables we have.

Thanks guys

The existing cable with the modulated changer should work just fine, unless JVC is up to some funky stuff. As long as you are using a JVC head unit with CD changer controls that is close to the year of manufacture of the changer, you should be all set.

I just asked the same thing in my post. I have the Sony head unit and I received the disc changer from a friend of mine. I eliminated the FM module. With the changer I got a cable that plugs into the unit and then connects to the FM module. I went directly to my deck instead, where the remote input is and then plugged in the RCA plugs into the BUS Input.I am happy to say that it worked perfectly. However, I was told that if the unit was less than two years old I wouldn't be able to this. This is what I was able to do with Sony, JVC I am not sure of. Your best bet is to call a local stereo shop and tell them exactly what you have, and if they know their stuff, they should have an answer for you.Good Luck
