Experiencing some crazy weird canceling out between two tens, HELP!
Hey guys,
I just ordered a custom box from ebay for my camaro, it fits two tens and covers the whole well in the hatch. Me and my friend hooked the subs up yesterday, they were both performing to their full potential, and so was the amp, everything was hooked up properly, I assure you. But it hit LESS as hard as my eight inch bass tube. Funny, ain't it? Well for some reason my right 10 went out, and the left one was on, and it slammed more than 4 8 inch bass tubes put together. I then fixed the right sub cuz a wire fell out, and the bass went bad again. The subs were both moving up and down and kicking at a great rate, but I am guessing that either they cancel each other out due to some weird way they are positioned, or the box needs to be ported or the subs have to have their own chamber. They have their own chambers but there is a leak between them. Would sealing them up be of any help? Let me know if u guys have had this problem

Sounds like your subs were wired out of phase. That would explain them moving up and down like crazy but producing little bass due to the fact that they are mostly cancelling each other out. Try using the balance control to go right, and then left. If the bass is way less as you get to the middle, they are out of phase.
Yep! On just one of the subs switch the + to - and the - to + connections (don't worry about how the sub is labeled) and listen. You should have more bass than when just one sub is playing.

Yeah, that might be it, because tonight I sealed the gap in the box and it still isn't makin much bass. I had the subs cookin today, REAL GOOD, I dunno what happened after that cuz i tried to reinstall the sub in a better position and it got crappy again. All you guys are sayin is to switch up the wires a lil bit? I have the tens wired in parallel (2 ohms). This is a crazy situation, never heard of it before.
