WHY do my stations come in crappy????

WHY do my stations come in crappy????

i have a brand new radio and ever sinsce switching from stock to new i get no stations they are always distorted and dont come in. what should i do...

you check to make sure that the antenna cable isn't loose at the headunit??

Also, check the radio owners manual to see if the unit is scanning the frequencies at the right intervals.

ita a rockford fosgate 9300, it is a nice radio but its not picking up much frequency. does anyone know what the right frequency should be set at. my owners manual magically disapeared along with my aiwa faceplate so im kind of in a rut right now

Like the previous post, check the antenna. By this we mean, clean the screw threads on the base of the mast and remove any corrosion. This may help and also check your connections.

since it came in good with the previous radio, its pretty unlikely that the actual antenna is at fault.. as suggested above, the best bet is the actual connection between the radio and the antenna.. first of all, make sure it is actually plugged in, and second.. make sure its connected tight, and theres no dirt or anything on either connector...

Check their website to see if the manual is online. Sometimes you can call or write to them and they will send you another manual.

Rockford makes excellent quality components. I would check the antenna as stated before, and if that doesnt help maybe try and buy a signal amplifier.

Rockford Fu*kgate? i would ditch the head unit and get a top of the line Sony or a Panasonic CQ-DF602U.
