When dealing with amps, You get what you pay for. And as you can see, with legacy you won't be getting much!

I'd put a 100 watt amp from a reputable company like Rockford, Orion, Kicker, etc. against a 10 million watt Legacy amp and I guarantee the Legacy amp will not come close.

if you want a really good amp for a pretty cheap price,
go to justamps.com, and check out their selection of JBL amps.
my buddy had the 1200 series hooked up to 2 perfect 12's.
loudest and clearest system ive heard for less than $500.

the jbl class d's are some of the best low budget amps around. i agree that you get what you pay for most of the time. sometimes, with the big boys, you pay for the name. i'm pretty happy with my Ample Audio amp and Crystal Mobilesound speakers. neither are big name, so neither are big money. however, the ample is a serious amp and the speakers are much better built and sound better then speakers 2-3 times their cost. so you get what you pay for, but it doesnt always have to be a name.

For the price, they aren't bad....I run my 2 Legacy 10s off a Legacy LA490 amp and ask for much more...the best part is I got it all for less than $75 and it sounds better than many of the other (cheapish) setups I've heard (pyramids, jensens, pyle, pioneer impp and others)....I'm very happy with mine, and they came with a lifetime warantee...great features for such a low price too.. I would not bother with it if you were planning to amp your speakers off of it though.....

i have a 600 watt leagacy hooked up to my 2 10" jl w1's and its sounds great..im sure with a fosgate or somthing like that it would sound much better but i mean there not really that bad..i havent had any problems with it cept that like if i cruise around for along time it isnt hitting as hard as when i first started it but it still hits hard....to me anyway....

dont go with legacy. their numbers are deciving anyways. that wattage is its max. look for the rms, that is more important than what it can do once every 5 mins. a 1000 watt legacy maybe only pushing 100 watts rms in all the channels combined.

this is due to bad workmanship. a rockford or kicker will have not problem withstanding normal loads of 1/2 to 3/4 volume all day long. they are more expensive but will always be there when you need them most (particularly when one of those dumb ****s pulls up next to u playin a stock system blarin' loud enough for u to here their speakers cracking to sollem sounds of livin la vida loca).

sorry, had to vent alittle.

Whatcha guys think of Kenwood amps?
I'm thinkin of gettin the Kenwood KAC-929 amp. Has 150x2, and 460X1, 230x2 2ohms. For $300, seems to be most bang for buck... right?
