Trouble fitting 4x6's in my Z28

I realize that theres a tech article for this and all, and have read it. But for my problem it seems a bit extreme. The problem that I'm having is that I can't my Inifinity Refrence 4x6 on the Drivers side to sit properly, the magnet is touching the back of the Control closter it looks like. I was figureing that it may be possible to get a spacer to make up for the space since its not to large of an area that its spaced out by. If theres somthing that I can purchase that will fit in there I'd like ta know, or if anyone has other ideas I'd like them as well

Adam

I had to cut some of the plastic back there to fit in my Inifinity Kappa plates.

firebirds have smaller space for the 4x6s in the dash, I put in Kappa plates and all i did was put 3 washers between the speaker and the mounting plate and shaved a little bit of the under side of the dash pad and all is well....screw cutting up your dash if you a camaro.

I put in some Boss Audio 4x6's in there and they sound great, esp. because of the 300w max and 150 normal operating range , but I have to retighten the bolts every 2 months because the speakers knock them loose :P

that's strange; mine (kappa 462.3cfp's) plates fit in there perfect with no chopping/hacking whatsoever!

I had the same problem in my old car; a couple of "lock washers" from your neighborhood hardware store should easily fix your problem.
