Will Car DVD Players play VCDs?

Does anyone know if car DVD players can play VCDs? I am thinking of putting a DVD player in my car and I think it would be
awesome to be able to put music videos on a VCD and watch them in my car.

Also, what would be needed to watch TV on the LCD screen? Is
the reception even worth it?

A TV Tuner of some sort....most VCRs these days have them built in; so if you could figure out some way to rig that up; then all you'd need to do is find an Antenna....I'm not sure how reception would be, though it depends on where you are located; while attempting to watch TV....

I would think that it depends on which DVD player you choose......

The box or manual will tell you what formats it plays. Most cheap dvd players will only play dvd disc format. If it plays vcd it will list it with the other formats that it may play like mp3.

Keep in mind that it may play retail VCD's but not CR-R VCD's... Check out some sites like Epinions.com and such to get more opinions and stats on the player.

A MODIFIED PS2 or dreamcast will play them........

I have a dreamcast in there which i download VCD music videos and play them on my LCD screen......

If you get good reception at your house and live in the city, yeah i think it is worth it....
