Does MTX make a good amp?

If they do, I'm wondering about the measurements companies put out. MTX rates their amps THD as < .1, but it seems most other companies rate their THD as < .01,.03,.085,.02 etc. at least a power of 10 difference. What gives? Is THD that important of a measurement? Is there a noticeable difference between 2 amps with different THD?

My brother and another of my friends have MTX amps and are very happy with them. As far as the THD ratings I believe that any of those ratings you listed would be inaudible to the human ear anyway. I used to know where it started to be noticible but I can't remember excatly. I know those figures would fall below what you should be able to notice unless your superman or something.

I have an RT2600. The box says .1 but the birth sheet was much lower than that. I can't remeber what it was for sure but it was alot less than one.

With that low THD, you will not hear an audible difference. Good amps.

Yup. On mids/highs and such most all people can't start hearing distortion until 2-3% ( a few claim to hear 1%). I think for subs that number goes up to like 10%....

Companies bragging about ultra low THD's are just trying to sell some more amps to the uninformed.
