radio deck wiring problem

i hooked up my pioneer cd player the other day and it didn't come on, so i took it to circuit city to see if i wired it all correctly and they said i did and did this test thing and said i was only getting 2 volts from the battery from the power wire. so i ran a new wire from the battery to the back of the radio and it still won't come on. it's really starting to **** me off. i checked all the fuses and the radio is fine, so what can be the problem. do i have to run a new ignition wire too? if yes, how? please help somebody, i'm tired of driving around without any music. thank you

Eek, 2 volts?! Really, for a problem with such a broad range of possible causes, you may want to invest in a multimeter. You can get an anolog one at home depot for 20 bucks, or go all out digital with the trimmings for like 60. You're gonna have to test out the wires and see where the problem really is. It'll save you lots of time and frustration of just randomly replacing wires. And, assuming you haven't already, get the battery checked out.
