So basically you waited for someone to make a good design (REZN8R) and then make a copy of it, and try to sell it at a slightly lower price, thats just completely disrespectful and quite irritating

REZ is not the first person to make a custom box for f-bodies. they design has been around for years. however, his boxes do look very well built and i compliment him on that. plus, there is a box schematic floating around this board right now (i actually posted it myself, so i know its around here) that i had gotten off this board a year or two ago. so no need to go hating people on this board. lets all just get along

ok, stop with the
everyone, and lets discuss this...
which box you guys think will have better response, tamu130 or REZN8R?? personally i think REZN8R will sound slightly better, but my box looks more like tamu130.. lets hear your opinions.

I don't think the slight differences in the two boxes is gonna make an audible difference. Not enough to base an opinion on anyway.

glad you asked hulk..at least someone remember what the purpose of the post is.
using the outside measurements, it is about 3.2 cu ft total. im not exactly sure on the internal but its somewhere in the 1.0-1.2 cu ft per sub.

if you seriously think the shape of a box is gonna make a difference in sound, then you need to brush up on your audio knowledge. shape has no affect on sound (for the most part, the little stuff is too technical for me). what matters is the size of the enclosure and the build quality. if both are made from 3/4 mdf and are the same internal size, they will sound no different.
I hope that last post about shape wasn't directed at me. Volume has nothing to do with shape, only with dimensions. Consequently, shape is very important. I definently wouldnt want my subs sandwhiched in a small space with a huge connecting chamber that makes up the bulk of the volume. But what would I know, I only study physics and acoustics in my spare time.

Calm down Tamu. I don't need your thread to sell my stuff. I was only posting to show the differences between our products and stop people from saying you were copying me.

the leak is what you noticed. if two boxes are well built, use the same materials, and have the same internal volume, the shape has little to do with it. hulk, i wasnt aiming my post at you, dont worry. in example, people think tubes suck for enclosures, yet they have no info to back it up. if getting technical, you can talk about such things as the standing waves inside the box, but very little of the sound has to do with the actual shape of the box.
well this is what i think...
tamu130's boxes are a great universal box... i'm sure it's fantastic quality and serves the general public very, very well. The only difference i see, besides the design, is that REZ mentioned he designs boxes as he goes along, to fit your needs - spare req, specific volume for subs, exact fit and things of that nature and that's why they're bumped up a bit in $. While tamu130's boxes are considered custom, i believe that REZ makes a "customer specific" custom box. That's all i gotta say.

Pic of 1 installed in car?
Do you have a pic? I would like to see if there is enough room for my glove box in the back to open all the way. I will buy one if it sits flush with the shelf above the gas tank.

Hey tamu130, how are sales coming along? Too much business yet?
If not just remember that if you use the web right you might be able to sell at least 10 boxes a month.
