Kicker 12" L5 vs L7
I was checking out the kicker L5's and L7's on the net and I wanted to know if the extra $50 or so is worth paying for the L7's.
Any help would be appreciated.

to be honest, whichever goes better with the wattage your offering. the L7s are better and will be louder, but for the most part they are pretty similar subs. if you dont mind paying alittle more, then go with the L7s, youll be pleased with the results. i guarantee it. if your curious as to the difference in the two, you can probably find the info you need on kicker's web site. i think its www.kicker.com .
i got another idea, you buy a pair of L7s and buy me a pair of L5s and we'll see which one is better
.
good luck

I will probably stick with the L5s just because that is $100 that I spend on something else. That way instead of $380 for 2 L7 12s, $275 for the 1200.1 and $100 for box materials, total of $755, I would have $270 for 2 L5 12s, $275 amp, and $100 box for a total of $645.
thanks for the input,

the 12s. the L5s and L7s arent that much difference. i have seen a single L7 12 take the place of 3 lightning audio 10s and sound as good. i also worked with a guy at a shop that had 2 L7 10s and switch it with 1 L7 12. it wasnt guite as loud but it was close and sounded pretty clean too.
sorry, kinda got off the subject there. anyways, i agree go w/ the 2 L5 12s. i think youll be very satified. thats what i would do if i could afford it.

jacob

If it was me, I would pay the little extra money for better subz. I did a SPL check with a 10" L5 and a 10" L7, with the same amp, same box, and same cd player, on the same 60hz, the SPL the L7 was 1.1dB's higher. Just my .02
