Need Amp choice Help

Alright, i want to get a kicker Amp to power 2 10" L5 solobaric squares(I'm all about the squares) and my existing infinity 6X9's.
Do I want a 2 channel or 4 channel? and how much power? I want these to sound tight, so I wanted to run everything a 4 ohms. Is it a waste of time to power the 6X9's? I so.. is mono bloc what i want? I want to go with kicker to match the subs. I was planing to ebay this deal, so price is variable. I am a little bit stereo ignorant, I guess if there is a mega good amp by a differen't brand, I wouldn't be against it. I care more about sound not brand affiliations. Any suggestions would be appriciated Thanks

6x9's.... not worth it. If you are REALLY worried bout them.. getta cheap american legacy amp or something to power them. My suggestion is search ebay for VOLFENHAG. Get one of their amps. The 4 ch 1000 watter is sweet for highs.

As for the subs... why go l5s? they are the wussy bros of the l7.just getta l7.. or else if you dont mind round subs.. get kove armageddons or orion hcca's.

Even the volfenhags are nice. I had 3 of the 10's that dB matched a cerwin vega stroker. And they are cheap too.

Lots of choices out there.. and I said volfenhag.. so 10:1, KJ will preach the rest of the word bout them.

If I were you.. and wanted some serious *** bass... Id go 2 L7's with a rockford 800.2

I'm not one for kicker amps. Id much rather Orion or PPI.

I agree, if your getting L5's your not gonna wanna worry about the 6 x 9"s. Just get a 4-channel amp, bridge the subs in a series, run them @ 1 ohm each, and bridge them on the amp. You'll rattle the windows off your car.

Wait , I thought running at 4 ohms would give me better quality sound, I don't want loud and buzzy. Why 4 channel for 2 subs? I thought for just subs i wanted monoblock or 2 channel? Do L5's suck or something?

Because Solo-Barics are DVC ( Dual VOice Coil ) to get maximum efficeincy from your amp for both subs your gonna need 4 channels.

i wouldn't listen to those guys. lol no offence...

putting subs and fullrange speakers on 1 amp isn't a good idea. thats putting a big load on your amp.

as for powering your fullrange (6x9's, 4x6's and anything else you might have) i would get a nice 300 watt amp.

for your subs, get an amp close to or equal to the power of your subs. if you have 2 400 watt subs, get atleast a 700 watt amp.

as for not worrying about your 6x9's.. that depends on how loud you want your car...
when i had my bird, it was so loud when my brother sat in his IROC next to me, he'd have to tell me to turn it down so he could hear his system. (windows up..)
i had 2 6x9's, 4 6.5", 2 4x6's, 2 tweeters, 2 12" subs, 3 amps.

id say stick with the L5's. they are excellent speakers. what few of the people seem to know on here is that this years L5 is almost identical to last years L7, and being cheaper is not a bad thing. i would say get a monoblock amp. they are made for subs. they have a class D design which makes them more efficient that a,b, or a/b. i would suggest a KX1200.1 if you want to stay with Kicker, they make great amps as well as speakers. i just bought a KX800.4 to run my system. The KX1200.1 will have over 1200watts at 1 ohm incase you ever feel the need to upgrade. the L5's are rated for 450 apiece RMS, so this amp would be perfect for them. it will give them plenty of power and dynamic headroom. also you will have it incase you ever decided to get another sub or different ones. the L5 is a great speaker, so don't let everyones bias get to you, everyones is biased. i would take my Boston Pro over it, but that doesnt change the fact that the L5 is a great subwoofer.

other amps to look at:
JBL 1200.1
Crossfire 1000D
MTX8100D (but it is only 2 ohm stable)

about the 6x9's. i would suggest getting the subs takes care of, and listening to it for a while. if the car is still not loud enough, then pick up a 2 channel amp to help them out.
good luck

Like posted above I would by an amp for your subs and a seperate amp for your mids and tweets. Look ar either the 600.1 or the 1200.1. Get 2 dvc 2ohm speakers and wire them together to 2 ohms to the amp.
The l5 are nice and not to much different than the L7. If you get L7's then definatly get the 1200.1
