Use you brain. Sony Explode is popular cause it's cheap, not cause it's good. Legacy is popular too, cause it's really cheap and cause it's notorius for being rubbish.
I'll take Sony explode over Pyramid/audiovox/legacy any day of the week.

yet again all your opinion, i could care less what you claim you know about audio or what you claim to have built. either way well see when i rate my stuff....
well as far as this arguing goes i can tell you whats up. i have mtx and they are sweet, and i have a 1400watt pyrimid amp that pushes about 50watt if that to my speakers... looks cool.. saw 1400watt i knew it wouldn't be THAT many watt but out of all seriousness.. my mtx amp that is 250watt bridged puts out better then this amp. don't get me wrong the system does sound really nice to me, but could sound much better then what it does sound like

i agree i loved my MTX's i absolutly loved them when i had them, but when i got the money for infinities i was instantly in love, the tone and response is so much more accurate but that doesnt go to say i ll say that infinity is crap. i bought my legacy knowing that it was a crap brand but it does well for me and i have ha dno problems with it. either way name brands arent all their talked up to be.

Look at pricing...
You need to take a look at how these companies market themselves. Do you really think that even Alpine built their first amp and threw it out on the market they asked $500 for it? (even when NOBODY was really buying car audio at that time, except the rich). Any new company, (like Volfenhag) coming out of the blocks trying to compete with the big marketing dogs, like JL, Alpine, PPI, Orion etc, would obviously begin with extremely low prices.
Have any one of you unpacked a Volf 12" sub and felt the sheer girth of it? Have you looked at the basket design and the engineering of the connections and mounting points? The technology that has gone into this sub compared to s**t you may have paid $500 for 3 years ago, by the best, has been passed up by huge technology that gets cheaper every year.
Do you really think JL is dumping MORE profits into IMPROVING design and SPL now that technology is making production cheaper? The price continues to go up at a rate faster than product improvement.
Do you think Volf's are gonna stay cheap? I think not...they are on to something. The aluminum cone, the coil design, I don't know, but I do know they will not stay cheap for long, as people continue to try them out and see how good of a sub they are.
Will they ever get to Alpine's level in status...doubtful, but the market is alot bigger now and a hell of alot more competitive.
Buy em and try em while they are cheap...nothing to lose.
just my .02 cents

Damn has this gotten out of hand.
Stop the petty bickering.
I never said anything about Volfenhags being better than JL's or any of that.
In fact, JL 6's could pound me to the ground, with the right amp.
For the price ratio, Volfenhags "Pound like a Mother"....
There are in competition with Type R's and Punch's.
They cant really compete wit infinty's, xtant, jl, or any other in that catagory....
