MB Quart - Made in China????

There is not a dealer in my area carrying MB Quart speakers anymore. I recently placed an order on-line and received a set of MB Quart reference series woofers. It has "Made in China" on the box. The older component sets I purchased years ago from authorized dealers were made in Germany.

So, does anyone know if all the MB speakers lines are being assembled in China now?

Thanks for replying CAM and Bay. They do sound great and the quality / quality control still seems to be fine. I was just not expecting "Made in China" on a MB Quart product. Oh well.

I have 6.5" ones made in Germany, and 4x6 ones made in China... the only thing that seems to have changed is the price, the quality seems the same.

For the most part unless you buy from a smaller company or spend a considerable amount for your speakers they are made over seas. Only big name I can think of that are made in usa are JL, DD, RE, Adire and a few others and Im not sure all of them are. Plus alot of components come from other countries.

If I remeber right kicker moved to over seas to improve their quality control.

Some of it is made in China, some is made here. Just really depends. I think more of the newer stuff is being made offshore.

FYI, MTX more than half the subwoofer line and most of its amps in the US. Rockford makes many of its subs and all of its amps in the US as well. Not everyone has gone offshore. Making components in the US is tough though, especially the cheaper ones.

where, whom and how it is designed is a more tell-tale sign how it should work, over where....most are going off shore, as most build houses here are too high, and quality is low.
