Amp and speaker compatability
Amp and speaker compatability
before i buy the JBL 600.1 amp from Ikesound i want to make sure that this will work. i have 2 Rockford Fosgate 10 inch punches. they are 8 ohms a piece. RMS is 150 Peak is 400.
the amp is rated at
Output 4 Ohms: 300W x 1
Output 2 Ohms: 600W x 1
if i wired my subs in parallel that would give me 600W right?
thanks alot for any help, this is kind of complicated to me so any help is appriciated.

If you wire your (2) 8 ohm loads in parallel, total resistence will only be 4 ohms.
You need to have a total of (4) 8 Ohm speakers in parallel, for a 2 Ohm load.

Look at it this way...you want 2 ohms...that gives you an excuse to go buy 2 more subs!

Hahaha, ya, I guess your right, its still gonna be awesome. I can wait a lil bit longer for an amp so I can go to the concerts. I should be getting half the money ($400) tomorrow (Thursday) so I can get the JBL 1200.1 and the second sub, and then when I get the other half I will get an alpine CD Player and a JBL 80.4

Call me crazy, but your subs are rated for 150 watts rms, and at 4 ohms the 600.1 will put out 300 watts. So if you ran the two speakers in parallel, that would put you at 4 ohms, and give you 300 watts, which is just what you need. So why do you want to run at 2 ohms?
