not unless you use it to power your subs. It's a mono amp so it wouldn't produce seperate left and right channels needed for the 6 x 9s.

thanks mdformula350
im bored so i thought i might was well tell u what i paid for it all, the deck and the 2 front speakers were 60$ (front spaekers are pyramid's and are 4" diameter), the sub came with the cheap amp and box for 160$ and the 2 6x9's with the boxes was 100$, so it was a fairly cheap and good system.

You shouldn't have to use a amp to power your 6x9s anyways, unless u have a really ****ty deck. If you've got aftermarket speakers in front and back it should sound fine. Only use the amp if ur going to hook up some subs. Put the 6x9s in the sail panels, right now they look like wannabe subs. Also u should make a new box for your sub, the box sucks if its made of plywood, use something good like MDF.

MDF is the material of choice for most people. You can also use birch, altho that is quite a bit more expensive than MDF. If you're trying to do things as cheaply as humanly possible, some people have had moderate success with 3/4" particle board. What's nice about MDF is that it is really smooth and bonds well with body filler. So it's the best route if you're planning on doing any fiberglass work or if you want to get the surface of your enclosure super smooth. I like it for that reason in particular because I tend to use thinner fabrics as opposed to the standard box carpet.

Recessing an amp isn't difficult at all so long as you have the right tools. Basically you trace the outline of the amp on the whatever surface you want to mount it to. Then drill a pilot hole and cut it out. Then you attach another peice of MDF (about 1" bigger than the amp on each side) to the back. You don't need to screw it, just use a lot of glue. Then caulk around it from the inside just like you did for the rest of the enclosure. If you want it deeper than 3/4" then just glue on another piece of MDF and then cut it out just like the top. You can keep doing this to make spacers. When I do multiple layers, I like to sand it all nice smooth before I put the back on. Hopefully this pic will help a little.

But I really do like the way it looks. It lights up at night and you can see it through the back window. If you have any questions down the line, don't hesitate to email me (cause I never remember to check my PMs on here). Good luck!
