anyone ever crack a sub

i cracked a sub lastnight big a$$ split from the rubber almost to the center cone.. i did a search and came up empty. i did use a plastic repair stuff on it that is clear.. sounds like nothing was ever wrong.. wounder how long it will hold???

I would say if its old enough to split/crack then it will split in a differant spot later down the road. If they are old you might want to invest in some new ones but I would play the hell out of the old one first.

the bad thing is they are 6mo old but during the winter car was in gutted in the garage putting in new interior so i have mabe month in a half or 2 tops on them

it should hold for a bit. just the surround split? i've seen people have fixed their subs on other forums. check out www.carsound.com someone there should know

the subs are pioneer ts-w304 the immp series and the split is on the speaker itself just below the rubber surround damn thas pi$$es me off but the repair seems to be holding..i put it threw some he** today to see what it would do

depending on where you bought them from they should be on warrenty

if ii crack mine im in trouble, its metal

really you cracked the grey part in the pic....those are the subs I got too i hope mine dont crack.

ive used clear waterproof silicon in behind a sub once (on a seperated voice coil) and it held for a while. Are you sure they werent cut or they on when there was something resting on them?? If there 6mths old then warrenty covers them...cause they shouldnt crack theres no real stress on them that will make them crack,,,,,unless they were super cold and got hit or played real hard,,,,but mine arnt cracked and they seen very cold temps.

that where in the gray part.....i hope it was just a fluke and never happens again.. i took a pic after the repair i made so when i get in from work i will upload it

THAT ****IN SUCKS BAD!!!!!!!!!!


i think that if you try to fix it it will sound like ****, i tried that aourn the edge part, the rubber or whatever, and it didnt sound the same at all.

take them back for warrenty
