My setup in the back looks very similar to that. I did the covering for the whole thing with black carpet like stuff, I have an acrylic window in a box that covers my amps with some 80mm blue led fans and 12" cold cathode in there. so you can see right in the amp box and see the diamond aluminum with the amps mounted on them. Real seamless look between box and amp cover.. Looks real slick... I even shocked my self with how cool it looked. have to get a hold of a digital camera take some snap shots

Edit: HAHA oops forgot to say how much liked it. Looks very sweet my friend.. great Job, Love the smooth leather look.

right on im glad you all like it cause i do. Thanks for the comments!

Fei - sounds cool lets see some pics for sure!

joezero - no I didnt take any with the seat up...as i have my carpet pulled up kind of cause im geting new shocks on wed. And thats why the seat is down.

90RS305 - its not too thick but thick enought to not flex any. And cause its alum its light and wont rust. I dont really know the thickness,,,I just looked it over at the metal shop and said that stuff i want it! They also had heavyer stuff for building say truck cargo boxes...but that was too thick plus twice as much $. All my stuff is bolted to the metal.... the metal is screwed to my fiberglass box (under the faceplate) and it goes under the grey side plastic for a few inches. Its not going anywere unless you rip the crap out of everything trying to get it out. Plus to get it out theves would have to have the hatch open. And I got my hatch poper unhooked for that very reason.

Was that hatch popper a stock option on your car? On mine the only way to get into the trunk is to get out and use the key. Just trying to figure out if I got screwed outta an easier way to get into it. On that note though, I have a lot of $$ back there too, that does make for a little bit of stress relief, doesn't it?

Power trunk release was an option. Neither mine or my brother's camaros have them. It is possible to convert it, you will need the solenoid and hatch release button, but the wiring should already be there.

I thought unhooking my hatch popper would work too... But needless to say they just drilled through the lock and got it to pop that way... :-(

Yeah, actually, quite a few places. I don't know where you are exactly, but do you have like a Best Buy or an Ultimate Electronics near you? I know both those places will make either a wooden box or a fiberglass box to whatever specs you want. Not the cheapest thing in the world though. For my camaro (I went and got prices) wooden box would be about $300 and the fiberglass would be over $1,000. I don't know what kind of a box you want, though, mine was kinda a complicated order...you should check those places out!

If you go to a car stereo specific store, as opposed to somewhere like circuit city, they can usually do custom enclosures. Just be wary of where you go, how much you pay, and how much they actually listen to you. I was quoted a minimum of $400 for MDF min. $700 for fiberglass at a local shop. The thing was the guy never even asked what type of music I listen to, so he was gonna build me a ported enclosure because it was the "loudest". That would be fine when I listened to rap, but not when I listened to rock (and how can anyone live without The Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails?).

My general rule of thumb is this: If it seems like as soon as I walk in the door the guy already knows what he wants to sell me, I won't buy anything there. If they don't START by asking me questions about what I'm looking for, I won't buy anything there. Lastly, if the salesperson is always trying to push the "high end" products or the most expensive route, and is reluctant to show me something cheaper, I'll walk out.

There are a few other options. One is to build the enclosure yourself. I'm sure mine would have cost between $800-$1000 at the aforementioned stereo shop. I built it for about $60. The other is that many sub manufactures make enclosures that are matched to their subs. Those are usually about half the cost of a custom enclosure, and will give you the same performance.

You can see the construction of my enclosure here:

Yeah it does suck when someone takes your **** from you like that... The enigine was fine, I mean it was a new 350 crate motor that only had 200 miles on it... The paint job cost me about $2500. That included a new nose, aftermarket spoiler, Filling of the old spoilers holes, racing stripes, new turn signals, new emlems, etc.... Unfortunatly i couldnt buy it back at the auction (since it was a total theft/arsen they had to put it up for auction and not sell it directly back to me...). You need a buyers permit, and a bunch of other **** that i dont have and didnt know anyone that did... So now i hope its in good hands and that it will be taken care off...

Yeah i got money back out of it... but only like $9,500 out of the $16,500 i put into it... So now i get to start all over again with my new car. Atleast i was able to drop the stereo i did into it, so i am happy for now. Next the engine needs to be done...

Dude that does suck *** sometimes the law just doesn't make sense. Did you get the same car again? And one more question on the paint job I don't need any new parts and I already have a good paint job (rather new...picture attached) so with the same type of job with the stipes and all JUST for the paint job how much did that cost you? So far I got a quote for about $1500

Nice look jcurrieirocz. Floor plates of the same material would compliment it well kinda like the eclipse on fast and the furious. Hopefully they wouldn't randomly fly off during a drag race (what a cheesy movie)

WinnipegGTA- yep you guessed it made it myself,,,,with a staple gun and 1/8" plywood , vinal and 1/4" foam.

comarti4- no i dont want to do that,,,cause i got lots of dirt here as we got a dirt driveway,,,and all id do its scrach all that nice polished alum up and then it would all tarnish and look crapppy...i dont feel like polishing my floor for a show. Yah i want alittle more accents with it somewere just not sure were yet.
Oh yah WTF is a floor panel coming out of a car like that for in a movie,,,and making the rivits fly off like that,,,,that was so unrealistic,,,,and who the heck cuts out there floor panels to put them in there anyhow hahahaha stupid???
